The once thick forest now lay bare on the ground.
Zack and Mara gaped in shock. The never expected continuous sound wave attacks to be so destructive.
"Damn it! Go, go, go!" Zack urged.
Despite their best efforts to escape the woods, it was too late. The forest was completely destroyed, and there was no place left for them to hide.
The raging wind blades reached them.
Without hesitation, Zack stepped in front of Mara to take the brunt of the attack. Wind blades sharper than steel slashed at him, cutting through his clothes and easily breaking through his defenses.
Gashes appeared all over his body, each of them longer than a foot. His exposed flesh peeled away, making for a hideous sight. Blood spurted out, instantly staining his clothes red.
