The blaring of my phone ringtone woke me up from my peaceful sleep.
I groaned, turning to the other side, using a pillow to cover my ears.
My phone rang again and I grudgingly reached for it at the bedside table and picked up without looking at the Caller ID.
"Laurey! What are you doing, still sleeping?" Lexi's loud voice boomed in my ears, almost bursting my eardrums.
"Ouch, Lexi. Why are you screaming like that? It's still early." I mumbled in a sleepy voice.
"Still early, you say? It's 1pm." she screamed into the phone again making me jump up in bed.
"1pm? Good Lord. Did I sleep that much?" I asked, checking the time on my phone and seeing 1pm on the screen.
"You bet. We're on our way with the police. Better get ready."
