The angry crowd roared outside the castle walls. Julius kneeled next to Gains’ body soaked in blood, frozen in a terrible moment. He stammered, struggling to find the words to explain the dire circumstances. Castle servants gathered around, horrified by the grisly site. Azura heard the commotion and entered.
“What happened here?”
“It was Julius, Azura. He’s a madman. He attacked me and Gains during the meeting. He helped Orthenius and Verutia breach the castle,” Cain accused.
