Prologue
"You'll rot in hell!" I screamed from the top of my lungs and pointed the gun at him "We'll rot in hell together, baby" He said and smirked at me How twisted fate must be, huh. I thought this kind of cliché story is for the books only but how harsh life can be that it let me experience this kind of love – the love that swallows you whole and gives you the whole package of pain. I guess it’s true that every fairytale ends with a horrible ending. “You killed my entire family, you punish and torture them and I won’t forgive you for that!” The skies are with me. Rain is pouring down and hard, lightning is sloshing through the night. It’s a perfect ending for this misery. “Oh honey, they deserve that. I will do it again if given a chance and I will happily dance at their graves” His smirk grows like he’s enjoying my distress “You know how fun it is to have the upper hand?” I lowered my gun when I asked him that question. I can see his men gathered around me, ready to pounce when their boss commands. “Upper hand you say?” I know he’s curious but kept his calm exterior “Do you remember that night two months ago?” I saw how his eyes widened a little, with his reaction I know he already have a hunch “Why the long face sweetie?” Now, it’s my time to smirk at him “No, you’re bluffing” It’s like he’s saying it to himself rather than me “Oh but I’m not” “Nobody moves! She’s pregnant!” He screamed at his men. “Come on, baby. We can still talk it out, please…” He’s begging and almost kneeling. That’s right, kneel for me. Ask for my mercy, you f*****g demon of a man “Look how fast you changed your mind? I will always be one step ahead from you, baby” I pointed my gun at him. He extended his hand as if accepting the bullet that was about to hit him. “Go on, baby. I can take your bullet” He encourages. “I’ll take your anger, please” He pleads “I will forever regret that I fell for you. I will forever regret that I bore your child. This will be your punishment. Goodbye, Montreal” I heard his screams at the bullet pierced my stomach My legs wobbled, the weight of everything crashing down on me. The rain made the ground slippery beneath my feet, and my heel caught on the jagged edge of the cliff. “No!” Montreal’s voice cracked through the chaos. My body tilted backward. I felt the cold air wrap around me as I began to fall. For a moment, time slowed. The memories of us—our first meeting, our whispered secrets, our twisted love—flashed before my eyes. Wasn’t it funny? That even in death, he was the last thing on my mind? “Montreal…” I whispered his name one last time before the darkness swallowed me whole.
