The Witch and the Boy who Loved Her

Week 2+ Characters

    Background of the protagonist-Layla Hall. Layla was raised in a small, seaside town that her family had lived in since her grandmother was a young woman. Layla's parents were killed when she was young by the same curse that will threaten her and she was raised by her grandmother. Because her grandmother raised her a witch, she was taught to keep her powers a secret. She wasn't the most popular girl in high school but she wasn't a total loser either. She just kind of blended in. She taught herself how to play the guitar. She played in a small garage band that would be playing at the party the night she meets Peter. 

Peter Sarentina- Peter's father left when he was 12. He has carried this anger around with him since. His mother, try as she might, just can't keep him on a tight leash. He does pretty much whatever he wants. From giving himself tattoos, to piercings, to skipping school and being a smart ass when he does show up. He is popular in school, especially with the ladies. Being a total player. Never much of a jock. He does love to party.

    Personality- Layla is quite in general but will stand her ground and stick up for others. She is smart and talented. She minds what her grandmother says, but does sneak out to the occasional party. She doesn't drink so she doesn't understand why grandmother won't let her go. She is always responsible. 

Peter is more a partier. He loves to drink and have fun. He is constantly in trouble. He may be talented but he hides it behind this sarcastic façade that he created after the death of his father. His temper tends to get him into a lot of fights. He can be possessive and a little jealous. 

    Physical features- Layla is 5'6", athletically curved, long black hair, tanned olive skin, big green eyes, and a big smile that lights up the room.

Peter is tall, 6'4", muscular build, tanned skin, tattoos, ears pierced, chiseled jaw, Shaggy, chocolate brown hair, beautiful blue eyes, with a charming smile.

    Social Relationships- Layla lives with her grandmother, Frances. A solitary witch that has lived alone most of her life. She moved to the small town when she was pregnant with Layla's mother and has never really been social with the towns people. Layla also plays in a band with her three friends: Ashley the lead singer and more outgoing of the group. Katie the drummer the quiet steady friend that is always there when Layla needs some friendly advice. Curtis the bass player, the guy of the group. He is quiet and funny. He has had a long standing crush on Ashley. Since the four of them have been friends since 2nd grade when Layla came to live with her grandmother, Curtis has had a crush on Ashley the entire time. Ashley has no idea but has always thought of him as a friend.

Peter lives with his mother, Sharon. Being a single mom she works two jobs and is gone most of the time. She is sweet and kind-hearted. Always thinking the best of Peter. Even when he gets into trouble.  His best friend Jake still lives in Chicago but they talk on the phone. He has always been Peter's good role model. He is smart, doesn't get into trouble, he tries to keep Peter out of trouble. Straight A student.  His new friend, Willy, is the party gawd. He supplies the drugs for all the local parties. He is rarely seen in school. He never makes good decisions. He lives to party and hook-up with girls.
