Chapter Two

Preparations

The answer to the question about remodeling the house became obvious when Cat discovered she was pregnant and Maddie desired to have a child of her own. Sam counted cars and determined they would need at least twelve bays in the new garage. He added two more for good measure and included an expanded shop area. It would be a two-story structure with educational facilities upstairs and plenty of room for other purposes. He also, with the help of the girls, made a rough sketch of the pool and spa area. Maddie used her skills to render a drawing of what they wanted. Designing the lower floor of the current house was more difficult. They would need two suites including living space, bathrooms, kitchens, and entertainment facilities. He decided to acquire the services of an architect for the projects and left the design to their team.

Maddie stopped taking her birth control pills immediately. Cat’s pregnancy had changed her mind about waiting.

The trip to New York City was delightful for them all. Sam hired a private jet for them and they traveled in style on the Gulfstream. He didn’t mention that he had an interest in the company that ran the service. They stayed in an excellent hotel near both the financial district and Broadway. They ate great food and saw the sights, including a couple of shows, and met with Sam’s financial advisors. He made sure to provide for the girls and their children in case something happened to him or Cat. Their advisor turned out to be a woman who understood and accepted their lifestyle. They came home exhausted, but in great spirits. Cat didn’t even have much morning sickness on the trip. In fact, she felt great. The only problem they had was in finding a bed big enough for the four of them.

When they got back to the lake house, the work on the pool and spa had already begun. Excavation had ended, and the materials were on site. The next phase was building the new garage, designed as an attachment to the house. Sam had specified solar heat for the floor and conversion to alternative energy for the entire complex with backup from the existing grid. The design of the new garage addition suited them all, but construction had not yet begun.

They were glad to be back home for another reason. New York had been intense, and their s*x lives had been mostly cuddling and sleeping together. There was very little s*x, much to Maddie’s chagrin. Cat didn’t really care. She was pregnant, and that was what mattered most to her. She went back to see Dr. Collins at the appropriate time and took Maddie with her. Caitlin stayed with Sam. She wanted to talk with him when they were alone.

“Sam,” she got his attention, “I am concerned about something.”

“What is on your mind, my sweet?” he replied.

“When Cat and Maddie are both pregnant with your children, what is going to happen to me? Do I need to get pregnant too?”

Sam took her in his arms and kissed her tenderly. “You are my wife, Caitlin. You will be my wife forever.”

She shed a tear. “I am so glad you feel that way, my love. I could not bear to lose you.”

“You are not going to lose me, dear one,” he assured her. “You do not have to have my baby to keep me loving you. I will love you forever.”

“I want to have children with you, Sam, just not right now, do you understand where I’m coming from?” she explained.

“Yes, dear Caitlin, I understand,” he assured her. “I get the feeling that is not what is troubling you, however. What’s going through that pretty mind of yours?

“This may be selfish of me, but I do not want to lose either of them to their children. Will we still be four together? And what happens when the children get older and realize that their mom and dad are not married to each other that he is married to me?”

“We are breaking new ground, I will admit, at least for us. Yes, they will be busy with their kids, but there will still be time for the four of us. Kids must sleep, you know.”

“What happens when you and I decide to have a child?” she asked.

“We will be parents,” he said simply. “How do you think couples have four or five children? I promise you our intimacy will not end, no matter how many kids we have.”

“This is all so new to me, Sam.”

“I know, Caitlin, it’s new to me, too. We will get through it together that I promise. When Cat and Maddie have children, there will be more time for just us. I would like that.”

“I would too,” she kissed him. “Take me to bed, Sam. Make passionate love to me. It has been too long.”

“Yes, it has, my dear. We have been concerned with other things.”

“Will you take me away soon, just the two of us, to somewhere exotic and romantic?” she asked him.

“Yes, Europe, the South Pacific, anywhere you want to go. Cat and Maddie can stay here and oversee the construction projects while we are away. When do you want to go?”

“When Maddie gets pregnant,” she answered. “I know you love them, but you are my husband and I need to be with you, just the two of us, for a while. Can we do that?”

“Yes, my love. We must take time for the two of us.”

“Oh, Sam, I love you so much.”

He picked her up and carried her back to the bedroom in his arms, the way she loved so much. She hugged him around the neck and kissed him all the way.

Sex with Caitlin that afternoon was like something he had never experienced with her before. The difference was their deep love for each other. To him, it was all about her. Before, it had always been about him. She was the most important thing in his life. Yes, his lover, Cat, was going to have his baby or babies, and he loved her, but he loved Caitlin uniquely. He did not put her down on the bed. He put her on her feet, standing so he could look at her face to face, and lifted her chin so tenderly. Her eyes were bright with anticipation and he lowered his head to kiss her. As his lips met hers, she closed her eyes and melted into his strong arms.

“I love you, Caitlin, more than I have ever loved anyone or anything in my life. You are my life’s partner, my wife, and I want to make you happy. That is why I married you. That is why I took care of you for all those years. That is why I was always the gentleman with you. I have loved you for so long, and now we are together. He kissed her again. They were together, alone, for the first time in a long time.

“I know you love Cat and Maddie and that they are counting on you to father their children, and I love them too, but we have found each other at last. Do what you want to do with them, it is okay with me, but Sam, you have made my dreams come true and I want to be with you forever.

“As much as I love Cat and want to make Maddie’s dreams come true if I can, you are my love and my wife and partner forever, dear Caitlin, if you will have me. I want no one else but you to live my life with.”

“That is what I want too, Sam,” she said. “Make love to me, as lovers do.”

“Kiss me, my dear Caitlin, I love you so much.”

“He laid her down on the bed and moved in beside her. They embraced and kissed, passionately this time as their souls met and greeted each other. The two truly became one.

Sam was in no hurry. He kissed and caressed her as he undressed her with gentle, loving hands, causing her to relax in his arms. Her eyes were deep, blue pools into which he could lose himself as they gazed at each other. His kisses started at her forehead. Her eyes closed, and he kissed each of them, then her cheeks, nose, and her lips. He trailed kisses down her neck to her firm breasts and engorged n*****s, making her moan deeply. “Yes, very well, but both could feel the attraction between them,” he explained. “He loved her, was very proud of her, and knew she would be fine on her own.”

“Did they ever get together, Sam?” she wanted to know how he was going to end his story.

Yes, with the help of, unbelievably, two of his girlfriends. The three of them had an exciting and loving life together, but he couldn’t get his young girlfriend out of his mind. He paused.

Caitlin wrapped herself around him again and held him close.
