“Guess what y'all?" Anne asks as we take dinner. It's a bit late because we were late in preparation owing to my getting home late. I still have a feeling of some elation from our meeting with the Alpha, and I'm also confused.
Peter speaks, urging Anne to speak. “What?"
“You guys won't believe it but Alpha James has found his mate." Anne says.
I remain silent, but I wish she does the same too but when I look at her direction she avoids eye contact. Joseph and Peter have stopped eating and they're all fixing their eyes on Anne who is enjoying the moment.
“Say what?" Joseph interjects, “When did this happen?" He asks.
“Today. He was right all along, his mate was a member of this pack, only that she didn't attend that party." Anne continues keeping them in suspense.
