Chapter 76

Before anyone could react, Emma screamed and swiftly turned around, shielding Hope in her arms. Vincent drew his gun and fired rapidly. There was a loud clang as the flying dagger was deflected off its intended course. Vincent trembled as he hurried over to ensure Emma and Hope were safe. From the darkness, the man in white rushed out, his dagger aimed at Vincent. Bang! With a resounding noise, Vincent shattered the steel-cast dagger with a single punch, striking the man in white directly. The man flew through the air, blood spilling from his mouth, crashing into the wall which collapsed, burying him under rubble. At that moment, all the lights came on, and people finally reacted. Screams and shouts filled the air as everyone scattered and fled. In the blink of an eye, many guests vanished from the birthday party. Vincent turned to Emma and said urgently, "Take our daughter and go!" Emma didn't hesitate and hastily carried Hope away. It had been too close—another moment and the flying dagger could have struck Hope's throat. Vincent didn't want his daughter to witness such a bloody scene. Meanwhile, figures rushed over. "My lord, forgive our failure!" Galahad and the others knelt down, their faces pale, sweat dripping from their foreheads. Vincent ignored Galahad and approached the man in white step by step. The man crawled out from the rubble, his body covered in bloodstains, a terrifying sight. Vincent's punch had shattered his ribs. He stared at Vincent, fear in his eyes, and exclaimed, "Who are you? How can you possess such terrifying strength?" He was one of the top assassins in his organization, yet before Vincent, he was helpless. A single punch had sent him flying. Severely injured and pale, he had no strength left to fight. Vincent walked over, his voice cold as ice. "Who sent you to kill my daughter?" At Vincent's question, the man in white fell silent. Vincent reached out, grabbing the man by the neck, tightening his grip. His face remained cold. "Do you think if you stay silent, I won't do anything to you?" The man in white turned red, feeling himself choking. Overwhelmed by the fear of death. He gasped, "Spare me..." Vincent stared at him intensely and applied slight pressure with his fingers. "Are you gonna tell me what you know or not?" The man in white felt like he couldn't breathe, everything fading before his eyes. Summoning all his strength, he yelled desperately, "I'll talk! I'll talk!" With a thud, he fell to the ground, fresh air rushing into his lungs. It was like being a fish returning to water after nearly drowning. The feeling of being on the brink of death was something he never wanted to experience again. Looking down at him from above, Vincent asked coldly, "Who exactly sent you to kill my daughter?" The man in white looked at Vincent with eyes filled with terror. To him, Vincent was not just a devil—he was even scarier than that. The man gritted his teeth and said, "If I tell you everything, will you let me go now?" Vincent responded by lifting his foot and crushing the man's thigh. A heart-wrenching scream echoed through the air. Only then did Vincent speak, "You don't have the privilege of bargaining with me. Either speak, or die!" The man in white grimaced in pain, but he refused to say another word. He knew that once he talked, death would be inevitable. Vincent turned to Galahad and said, "I'm leaving him to you. Use whatever means necessary to get all the information. If you fail, you know the consequences!" Galahad responded with a serious gaze, "Understood, my lord!" Shortly after, Galahad glared ferociously at the man in white and shouted, "Take him downstairs. I'll make him talk!" With that command, the Knights dragged the man away. He screamed in terror, "Let me go! Let me go!" Ten minutes later, Galahad returned to Vincent and respectfully reported, "My lord, he has confessed everything." Vincent demanded, "Tell me!" Galahad continued, "My lord, this man in white is named Ryan Harrod, a high-ranking member of the Dark Shadow. He came to here to investigate Maxwell's murder. Upon discovering the connection to you, he planned to abduct your daughter during the birthday party to force you to surrender." Ryan knew that anyone capable of killing Maxwell was not ordinary. He planned to abduct Hope at her birthday party tonight, believing Vincent would surely give up without a fight. But he underestimated Vincent's strength. Vincent squinted and said, "The Dark Shadow? Trying to kidnap my daughter... Are they tired of living?" Vincent's wife and daughter were his bottom line. Anyone who crossed that line would pay the price. Vincent's expression turned cold, "Galahad, assemble the Knights. We're going to the Dark Shadow's headquarters to wipe them out once and for all!" Galahad didn't hesitate for a moment and immediately went to make arrangements. He knew that Vincent's wrath meant the Dark Shadow would face its doom this time.
