The hostess froze for a moment, then felt her face flush and her heart race.
Vincent's grand entrance had stunned everyone present, sparking whispers about his identity. Most people believed he was that mysterious big shot visiting M City.
With the composure of a professional, the hostess quickly regained her calm. "The starting bid for Cloudtop Villa is ten million dollars, with a minimum increment of one million dollars per bid. Let the auction begin!"
Everyone's attention shifted back to the auction.
"Eleven million!"
"Thirteen million!"
"Twenty million!"
...
The atmosphere in the auction room heated up quickly.
"Fifty million!"
Finally, the bid for Cloudtop Villa reached fifty million dollars.
The room fell silent. Fifty million dollars was beyond most people's expectations.
Throughout the process, Vincent lounged on the sofa in his private suite with his eyes closed, as if the auction had nothing to do with him.
"Is there a higher bid than fifty million?" The hostess asked as she scanned the bidders.
"Sixty million," Vincent said leisurely.
Gasps filled the room. ‘Sixty million for a villa? That's incredible!’
Spending sixty million on a single villa was unimaginable for ordinary people. But seeing that the bid came from Vincent's Suite No.1, everyone understood. The mysterious person, who orchestrated such a grand entrance was in that suite!
The hostess grew excited. "Any bids higher than sixty million?"
In Suite No.2, a young man seemed to be quite enraged. "Damn it, someone’s bidding against me?"
"Sixty-five million!" The young man gritted out.
"Seventy million," Vincent continued calmly.
His bold bidding drew murmurs from the crowd.
"What a show of wealth."
"Seventy million for a villa? This guy's loaded!"
"Oh my God, I wish I could be that rich!"
Vincent's bids left everyone in awe. Curiosity about the true identity of Suite No.1's occupant soared.
"Damn that guy!" Corey, in Suite No.2, was livid.
Corey had flown in from Devon to handle family business in M City. He believed that before the Joseph family could establish a foothold, they needed a suitable base, and Cloudtop Villa fit their prestigious image perfectly.
Corey thought acquiring Cloudtop Villa would be a breeze with the Joseph family’s wealth. He hadn't expected to run into such a tough competitor.
"Listen, buddy, whoever you are, you'd better not compete with me, or you'll regret it!" Corey threatened.
Vincent ignored Corey's threat entirely.
"Seventy million! Is there a higher bid?" The hostess asked, thrilled by how high the bids were soaring.
"Seventy-five million!" Corey finally bit out.
“Eighty million.”
“Eighty-five million!”
“Ninety million.”
“Ninety-five million!”
“One hundred million!”
Finally, Vincent raised the bid to an astonishing one hundred million. The crowd was completely stunned. To the man in Suite No.1, money seemed to be nothing but numbers.
People began to murmur amongst themselves.
"Who are the men in Suite No.1 and Suite No.2?"
"No idea! When did M City get such extremely wealthy individuals?"
"It looks like we're in for quite a show at this auction!"
Everyone was eager to see what the final price for Cloudtop Villa would be.
Corey was practically losing his mind. No matter how high he bid, the guy in Suite No.1 always topped him. He was here in M City for the industrial park project and couldn't waste all his funds on a villa. He couldn’t possibly use all the family's money just to buy one house.
With a grim face, Corey said, "Dude, do you even know who you're up against? You better stop competing with me for this villa, or you'll soon regret it!"
Everyone's eyes widened at Corey's threatening response. So far, only the bidder in Suite No.2 had been able to keep up with the mysterious bidder in Suite No.1. It meant the person in Suite No.2 wasn’t ordinary either.
The crowd was amazed, thrilled by such intense drama.
All eyes turned back to Suite No.1, eager to see the man's reaction.
Unfortunately, to everyone’s disappointment, the owner of Suite No.1 didn’t respond to Corey at all. To the mysterious bidder in Suite No.1, the person in Suite No.2 was merely a nuisance, who wasn’t worth any attention.
Corey burned with anger once he realized he was being ignored. As a scion of the Joseph family, he was always respected in Clonlow. He hadn’t expected to be so blatantly disrespected as soon as he arrived in M City, this infuriated him to no end.
"Is there a higher bid than one hundred million?" The hostess asked, looking at Suite No.2.
Corey clenched his fists. He wanted to bid, but he knew he couldn’t waste the money he’d brought. If he squandered it here, his father and grandfather would never forgive him when he returned home.
With that thought, Corey had no choice but to hold back.
"One hundred million, going once!"
"One hundred million, going twice!"
"One hundred million, sold!"
"Congratulations to the esteemed guest in Suite No.2 for getting Cloudtop Villa for one hundred million dollars!"
Vincent had finally won the Cloudtop Villa.
“Damn it! You just wait, I’ll make you pay for this!” Corey seethed once the auction concluded.
Vincent didn’t bother to acknowledge Corey’s threat. He simply shook his head and let out a chuckle.
Soon, an auction house employee approached with an elegant briefcase. "Sir, here are the property deeds and the key to Cloudtop Villa."
Galahad, standing behind Vincent, took the briefcase and signaled to his men to open another case. Inside was a black card adorned with a circular emblem of a sword, shield, and feather—Vincent’s exclusive Round Table Leader card with no spending limit.
Vincent entrusted the payment to Galahad and then turned to leave.
"Stanley, you’re in charge of the refurbishment for Cloudtop Villa," Vincent said to Stanley Field, who had accompanied him here.
"Yes, my lord!" Stanley beamed; he was thrilled to be able to carry out King’s orders.
