Stanley respectfully handed Vincent a folder with both hands. "Mr. Chesterton, this is the list of assets the Joseph family currently has. It includes real estate, bank assets, and company shares. Everything has been liquidated according to your instructions."
These were the original assets of the Joseph family, which Stanley had meticulously liquidated according to Vincent’s orders. After completing the task, Stanley promptly delivered the documents to Vincent.
Vincent took the folder and said softly, "You did well. I will remember it."
"Thank you, Mr. Chesterton!" Stanley’s face lit up with excitement. Earning Vincent’s praise meant a bright future ahead.
Vincent handed the documents over to Galahad. He had plans for these Joseph family assets.
Then, Vincent and his team left the private suite.
"You son of a b***h! So, it's you! How dare you compete with me for Cloudtop Villa!" Corey, who had been waiting nearby, snarled as Vincent emerged.
"How dare you speak to Mr. Chesterton like that! Do you have a death wish?" Before Vincent could respond, Stanley stepped forward, his face stern as he scolded Corey.
"Humph!" Corey sneered, showing his utter disdain for Vincent. "A bunch of country bumpkins from M City. Do you know who I am? You're all dead for crossing me."
Vincent couldn’t be bothered with Corey. He instructed Stanley, "Take care of this trash."
"Yes, sir!" Stanley nodded, then turned to Corey with a cold expression. "Take this ignorant bastard out and give him a good thrashing. Throw him out afterward!"
"Yes, sir!" A group of bodyguards rushed forward.
"Damn it! What are you doing? I’m from the Joseph family! You’ll regret offending me... Ah!" Corey struggled, but soon his screams began to echo as Stanley's men beat him and threw him out.
Stanley paid no heed to Corey’s threats. ‘King has already destroyed the Joseph family, and ye,t he still dares to cause trouble here? He must be prepared to meet his end!’
"My lord, where to next?" Galahad asked respectfully as they walked out of the auction house.
Vincent thought for a moment. "We’ve got the house. Now we need a car. Riding around in Hummers every day is too flashy. Let’s go buy a car!"
With another roar of the engines, a convoy of Hummers sped away.
Corey struggled to his feet, glaring at the departing convoy of Hummers. "Bastards! I’ll kill you all... Ah, this hurts so bad!" He groaned while clutching his sore behind.
It was humiliating for Corey, a member of the Joseph family from England, to be beaten by a bunch of M City locals.
Moreover, he had only been in the city for less than a day, but he already found himself in such a miserable state.
“Damn it, it’s all Clement’s fault. If it weren't for him, I wouldn’t have gotten beaten up as soon as I arrived. I need to settle this with him!” Corey growled, gritting his teeth in anger. He jumped into his Porsche and sped off towards the outskirts of M City.
In a dilapidated house in the suburbs, Norman was busy cleaning with the rest of the Joseph family. With all their assets stripped away, Clement and his people were forced to live in this old family property. The house was filled with dust and cobwebs and hadn’t been occupied in decades. It is a far cry from the luxurious lifestyle they were used to.
“Damn it, it’s all because of that Vincent! If it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t be stuck in this hellhole!” Edison grumbled, his face dark with contempt.
Norman sighed. “We just have to endure for now. Once the Joseph family from England sends someone to help, things will get better.”
Edison turned to Clement. “Grandpa, when exactly is the Joseph family from England going to send someone?”
Clement, sitting with his eyes closed, looked much older after the recent upheaval. The rapid decline of their fortunes had aged him an entire decade in just a few days.
He opened his eyes and snapped, “Be patient! They’ll come soon enough.”
Edison fell silent, not daring to press further.
Soon, the roar of a car engine echoed from outside.
“You M City bumpkins live in this dump?” Corey sneered as he stepped out of his car, looking around with disdain at the run-down house.
Clement eyed Corey’s bruised face with curiosity. “Are you the one Armand sent? How did you end up getting beaten?”
Corey’s face darkened at the reminder of his recent humiliation. However, he quickly regained his composure and said arrogantly, “Yes, I’m the representative from the Joseph family in England. My name is Corey. You must be my grandfather’s brother, right? He mentioned you once; he said you’re the brother who fled after losing the fight for the position as head of the family.”
“Bastard!” Clement exploded with rage. “Is this how you speak to your elders? Is this the kind of upbringing the Joseph family under Armand’s leadership has?”
"Calm down," Corey said with a sneer. "I'm only forgiving your rudeness out of respect for my grandfather. You're nothing to me. If you hadn’t begged him for help, I wouldn’t have bothered coming to this dump."
“You…” Clement shook with anger at Corey’s words.
“Dad, please don’t offend them!” Norman hurried to calm Clement down. “If we make them mad, we’re done for!”
“Yeah, Grandpa, don’t be foolish!” Edison added, rushing to support his father.
They both feared Clement might do something rash in his anger. Offending the family headquarters would ruin any chance they had of making a comeback.
Clement sighed in resignation. He was bankrupt and desperate, and now even Armand’s grandson dared to speak to him this way. It was humiliating, but Clement knew he had no choice. He needed Armand’s help, no matter how bitter it felt.
Seeing this, Corey’s face lit up with a smug expression as he looked at the Joseph family. ‘They are total failures. If it weren’t for Grandpa’s generosity, Clement and his family would be destitute.’
“My father is old, and his emotions get the better of him. I hope he didn’t offend you,” Norman said, trying to appease Corey. “I’m Clement Joseph’s son. You can speak with me about anything. I can handle it.”
Corey looked at Norman with disdain. “At least you have some sense, unlike this so-called head of the family who still thinks he’s important despite his downfall.”
Clement’s face turned red with anger. He could easily discern the mockery in Corey’s words.
“Yes, yes,” Norman quickly responded. “How do you plan on helping us?”
Corey huffed. “My grandfather said we’re prepared to invest over 100 million to revive the Joseph family in M City.”
Norman and Edison’s faces lit up with excitement.
“What? Over one hundred million?!”
