"We're too late again. Armand and his family have all been killed," the young woman frowned as she looked at the bodies scattered on the ground.

The elder shook his head in response. "It's unclear who did this, but judging from the wounds, they were all killed with a single blow. The killer is definitely not an ordinary person."

The elder and the young woman were from the headquarters of the Joseph family. Not long ago, they were on a mission at sea when they received a distress signal from within the family. They immediately rushed over by plane from the sea, but sadly, they were still too late.

The girl fell silent for a moment, then said to the elder, "Mr. Black, you go investigate this, we must find the killer. Armand was one of our Joseph family; he couldn't just be wiped out like this."

Mr. Black nodded respectfully, "Yes, my lady, I will find out."

The next day, news of the Joseph family's m******e spread throughout Z City, shocking the local tycoon families.

As a newly established force in Z City, Armand's entire family was slaughtered overnight, casting a terrifying atmosphere over the entire city.

Meanwhile, at V&E Group in M City, Vincent handed Emma a contract.

Curious, Emma asked, "What's this?"

Vincent smiled and replied, "Wait'll see."

Emma opened the contract and looked at Vincent in shock, "This is..."

Vincent chuckled, "Exactly, it's the property transfer agreement of Joseph Group in Z City. From today onwards, all assets the company possess belongs to V&E Group."

Emma found it hard to believe. She had been considering how to expand V&E Group into Z City, yet Vincent had the contract right in front of her.

She asked suspiciously, "How did Armand agree to transfer their assets to us?"

Vincent poured a glass of bourbon, sipping it as he spoke, "Armand thought about it seriously and acknowledged V&E Group's strength, so he decided to give up the further development in Z City and transfer the company to us."

Emma wasn't entirely convinced by Vincent's explanation. She was concerned that Vincent might have acquired the contract through other means, which could provoke retaliation from Armand's family.

Vincent embraced Emma and reassured her softly, "The contract is in your hands; no one can change that. Right now, the most important thing is that V&E Group has entered Z City."

Despite worried, Emma decided to trust her husband, since it was all done and dusted then. She said, "I'll go tell Dad this good news now!" Then she grabbed the contract and rushed out of the office.

Watching Emma's departing figure, Vincent shook his head helplessly. He realized his wife was gradually becoming a workaholic, unsure if it was a good or bad thing.

Inside a club in Z City, a luxurious private establishment with an annual membership fee of $100,000.

Osborn Frances, the club's owner, was the real power in Z City. He, dressed in an expensive suit, was enjoying a cigar at the top floor room of the club. Standing beside him was Blade, a man with a rectangular backpack.

Coming from the Far East, Blade was skilled in a form of combat using cold weapons. Ten years ago, he had met Osborn due to an assassination mission where Osborn was the target. The mission failed because Osborn outmatched Blade in combat skills.

After escaping from the failed assassination attempt, Blade with severe injuries was found by Osborn's men. Impressed by his combat prowess, Osborn saved him and kept him close, grooming him into Z City's most formidable professional assassin and his personal bodyguard.

Blade reported, "Mr. Frances, the Venom in M City has been wiped out. Nick is dead!"

Osborn's cigar snapped in his hand, his face darkening as he asked, "What the hell happened?"

Shaking his head, Blade replied, "Not sure, but I know the M City police issued an ultimatum to the entire underworld to surrender. Shortly after, all the gangs in M City, for some mysterious reasons, were wiped out, and Nick was killed."

Osborn ordered firmly, "Continue the investigation, find out who killed Nick."

Blade nodded, "Yes."

Nick was supported by Osborn in M City, bringing in substantial profits annually. His death and the fall of the Venom were significant losses for Osborn.

Blade added, "Last night, the newly arrived Armand and his family from England were completely wiped out in Z City, with no survivors."

Osborn stood up in shock and asked urgently, "Have you found out the killer?"

Shaking his head again, Blade replied, "Not yet."

After a moment of silence, Osborn said solemnly, "Nick is dead; Armand's family is killed. This is no coincidence."

Blade asked, "Mr. Frances, what should we do?"

Osborn replied, "For now, just wait and see."

The butler hurriedly approached. Osborn asked in a low voice, "What's going on?"

The butler respectfully answered, "Mr. Frances, there are visitors outside looking for you."

Osborn frowned, "Who are they?"

The butler shook his head, "Not sure."

Just as Osborn was about to refuse visitors, a young lady and an elderly man walked in.

Seeing the young lady, Osborn's expression changed. He quickly approached and respectfully said, "Miss Joseph, forgive my rudeness."

He turned to the butler and said sharply, "You are fired now!"

The young lady said calmly, "It's fine. I didn't notify in advance, so, understandably, they didn’t know about it."

Osborn breathed a sigh of relief. The young lady was Simona, the heiress of the Joseph family headquarters in England and the granddaughter of Armand's another brother. Osborn's secure operations in Z City for the past twenty years heavily relied on the support of the England Joseph family.

Simona's sudden visit made Osborn uneasy. He hurriedly said, "Miss Joseph, please have a seat!"

Simona said calmly, "Just relax. I've come to ask for your help with something."

Osborn promptly expressed, "Assisting your family is my duty!"

Simona asked, "Have you heard about the tragedy that befell Armand's family?"

Osborn replied solemnly, "I just found out."

Simona continued, "Armand's family was a cornerstone of our Joseph family. Now, their lineage is extinguished. Do you understand?"

Osborn replied immediately, "Miss Joseph, rest assured. I will mobilize all resources to investigate the truth behind the massacre."

Simona nodded, "Very well. I'll take my leave now. If you have any updates, inform me. I'll be staying in Z City for the time being." With that, Simona left with Mr. Black without further delay.

Osborn wiped the cold sweat off his forehead, and Blade curiously asked, "Mr. Frances, did Miss Joseph visit just to investigate the truth behind Armand's family?"

Osborn muttered to himself as he looked out the window, "It seems a storm is brewing in Z City."
