Una was startled. A villa with so many professionally trained servants was something they had never seen before.
Neither the Joseph family nor the Baron family possessed such extravagant wealth. Franklin remembered that there were barely more than a dozen servants in the Joseph family's mansion, and, to make things worse, their professional conduct was subpar.
Una recalled the Baron family's villa, which was hardly worth mentioning now that she had seen the Cloudtop Villa in front of her.
When detailing its features, Stanley told Vincent that Cloudtop Villa was elaborately designed by a renowned European designer. Whether it was the exterior design or the interior decoration, it all ranked among the top tier in entire M city.
Una and Franklin entered the villa and saw the exquisite solid wood furniture and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Both of them gaped in excitement.
She went from being expelled from her family and having to live in cheap apartments in poverty-stricken neighborhoods, to now residing in the best luxury mansion in M city. Such a drastic change made Una feel like she had gone from hell to heaven.
"Daddy, is this our new home?" Hope asked with wide, curious eyes.
Vincent smiled indulgently, "Yes, this will be our new home from now on."
"That's great! I finally have a home; I never want to live in a small house again!" Hope clapped her hands happily once she heard this.
Then, Vincent said to Hope, "Hope, let's go check out your room."
"Wow, such a pretty room!" As soon as the door opened, Hope's eyes got even wider.
The walls of the room were painted pink, and it was filled with various plush toys. Hope's bed was custom-made by Vincent; the headboard was shaped like a cartoon character, making it look extremely cute.
Vincent looked at Hope and asked with a smile, "Hope, do you like it?"
Hope nodded vigorously, "I love it so much, thank you, Daddy!"
After seeing his daughter so happy, Vincent left her in the room to take in the adorable decor a bit more, and then took Emma's hand, leading her to the bedroom on the second floor.
After Vincent pushed open the door, Emma was immediately taken aback. From the walls to the bed, everything was customized by Vincent according to Emma's preferences. The decor in the room resembled a fairy tale world.
"It's so beautiful, Vincent. Did you decorate it all?" Emma asked incredulously.
Vincent smiled, "Yes, I decorated it myself. I remember you telling me that you wanted to be a princess in a fairy tale..."
Before Vincent could finish, Emma suddenly felt sad. She and her daughter had suffered through many hardships in the past five years. She threw herself into Vincent's arms, releasing all the pent-up emotions of the past five years and crying loudly.
Vincent wiped away the tears on Emma's cheeks and gently said, "Don't think too much about the past. I bear a lot of responsibility for what you went through. Now that I'm back, I will make up for my past mistakes. I won't let you suffer any more hardships."
"Okay," Emma nodded vigorously and suddenly kissed Vincent's lips. Immediately, Vincent's mind went blank.
During these five years, Vincent had imagined more than once about reigniting the flames of love with Emma. He didn't expect her kiss to come so suddenly, it ignited Vincent's desire. He hugged Emma, and the two of them began to enjoy more of this moment.
After a long while, they were still entangled in a passionate moment, it wasn’t until they were almost breathless, that they reluctantly separated.
At dusk, Franklin called Vincent outside, "Vincent, I need to talk to you."
Vincent was taken aback. ‘My father-in-law is usually silent. What was he going to say today?’
The two of them went outside the room, and Vincent lit a cigarette for Franklin, asking, "Dad, what do you want to talk to me about?"
Franklin took a deep drag of the cigarette and looked at Vincent with a complicated expression, "Vincent, you're not an ordinary man, right?"
Vincent was silent for a moment and nodded. After Vincent nodded, Franklin's face became serious, and he said gravely, "I don't care what your real identity is. Emma is my only daughter. If you dare hurt her, I will fight for her even if I die."
Although Franklin was always silent and often bullied by Una, as a father, he would not allow his daughter to be harmed. This strong will was always hiding under his weak and incapable image.
Vincent looked straight into Franklin's eyes, "Dad, don't worry. I love Emma, and I will never hurt her."
Upon hearing Vincent's response, Franklin relaxed and said, "Thank you. I hope you can keep your promise."
While Vincent was talking to Franklin, Una was also talking to Emma.
Una earnestly said to Emma, "Emma, after Vincent came back, he suddenly became so wealthy. He even bought luxury cars and a villa. I think he must have earned a lot of money during his five-year disappearance. You should quickly obtain all of Vincent's assets..."
Before Una finished, Emma impatiently interrupted, "Mom, Vincent's money is his money. What does it have to do with me? Can you stop being like this?"
Una angrily retorted, "You i***t, I'm doing this for your own good! Vincent is now extremely wealthy, so who knows how many women will like him?! If you get his money, he won't be able to cheat on you..."
Emma frowned, "If you continue to slander Vincent and stir up trouble between us, I’ll make you leave here immediately and never come back."
Una quickly shut up once she heard this. Now that she could finally live in a fancy villa after so much trouble, how could Una ever be willing to leave?
Then, Una sneered and scolded, "If you don't listen to me, you will regret it sooner or later."
While watching Una leave, Emma shook her head.
The next morning, Stanley hired a chef to prepare a sumptuous breakfast for the family.
As the family sat down to have breakfast, they were immediately served by the maids. This sudden luxurious lifestyle made Una and the others feel a bit uneasy.
At this moment, Vincent suddenly said, "Emma, I have a surprise for you today."
