The next Friday arrived.
That day, the entire city flocked to Dream Land. Even the hotels surrounding the restaurant had been fully booked for days.
The streets were lined with people. Countless citizens swarmed in, all eager to catch a glimpse of this mysterious tycoon and the lucky woman beside him.
The commotion even alerted the MCPD. All the city's police officers were dispatched; they had formed a human wall in front of Dream Land.
"Galahad, is everything ready?" Vincent asked seriously, feeling an unexpected hint of nervousness. Due to his high status and power, even when facing death he had never been nervous, but today was different. Today was incredibly important—it was the first time he and Emma had celebrated their wedding anniversary.
Galahad replied, "My lord, everything has been arranged perfectly. There will be no issues."
Vincent forced a slightly uneasy smile and said, "Good. This time, I want to give Emma an unforgettable night."
7 PM, at V&E Group.
Emma was still working overtime. Since winning the bid, she had become even busier. However, she couldn't focus on her work; the chatter of her colleagues was all she could hear.
"Did you hear? The mysterious tycoon’s dinner reservation at Dream Land is for eight tonight!"
"I heard over a hundred thousand people are gathered at the plaza in front of Dream Land."
"The hotels around Dream Land were fully booked three days ago."
This Dream Land dinner was causing quite a stir; countless people eagerly anticipated this day.
Hearing the discussions outside, Emma's heart pounded. Although she had guessed Vincent’s thorough preparation for their anniversary, she was still excited about tonight.
At that moment, the office door swung open, and Vincent strode in.
Emma looked at Vincent curiously and asked, "Vincent, what are you doing here?"
Vincent smiled and said, "Darling, it's time to clock out."
"Clock out?" Emma pretended to check her watch, "That's still half an hour away."
"Today, I’m making the decision—everyone gets off early!" Before Emma could react, Vincent had already taken her hand.
Moments later, as she gazed out the car window, Emma's excitement became uncontrollable. "Vincent, this isn’t the way home, is it?"
Vincent smiled, "Darling, I’m taking you somewhere special today. It’s a surprise."
Emma could hardly contain herself, but she tried to remain composed. "What surprise? You’re being so mysterious!"
"You’ll find out when we get there." Vincent didn’t answer directly, but Emma had a good idea of what was happening.
She leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. For the past few days, balancing work with anticipating Vincent’s surprise had left her breathless.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of Dream Land.
Countless media reporters who had been waiting rushed forward immediately. Flashes from numerous cameras were going off in a paparazzi frenzy.
Click, click!
"The mysterious tycoon has arrived!"
"Sir, can we ask a few questions?"
"Sir, can we take a photo?"
"This is breaking news—we can't miss it!"
Everyone wanted to see who the mysterious tycoon was.
Meanwhile, hundreds of police officers rushed forward, blocking the reporters.
Emma, groggy from her nap in the car, woke up to the commotion. "Vincent, where are we?"
Vincent smiled and said, "Nothing much, I’m just taking you out for dinner."
"Dinner?" Emma looked out the car window and saw the dense, surging crowd outside.
"This…" The crazy scene left Emma stunned.
Vincent carefully helped Emma out of the car.
"Dream Land?" Emma saw the sign at the entrance. Even though she had some idea, she still widened her eyes in surprise. "Vincent, why did you bring me here?"
Vincent didn’t answer her question and just held her hand as he led her inside.
"Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Chesterton!"
Hundreds of Dream Land staff greeted them with respectful smiles.
Emma’s face flushed with nervousness as Vincent guided her into the elevator.
The 99th floor of Dream Land, the highest point in M City, was reserved for their most distinguished guests. As the elevator doors opened, thousands of roses arranged in a giant heart shape greeted them.
Emma was utterly astonished once she saw this.
Vincent, still smiling charmingly, calmly said, "You said you love roses, so I brought all the roses in the city here."
"Vincent, I…" Emma looked at him, her face a wash of shock and emotion.
The next second, beautiful music suddenly began to play. "Mariage d'Amour" echoed through the entire restaurant.
Emma turned her head to see an orchestra performing seamlessly in the distance.
"You said 'Mariage d'Amour' is your favorite piece of music, so I invited the best orchestra in M City to play it just for you," Vincent whispered in her ear.
At this moment, Emma’s mind had completely stopped, it was now entirely immersed in happiness.
Meanwhile, the onlookers outside started to buzz.
"Who do you think the mysterious tycoon is?"
"No idea! I still can’t see him!"
"If only we could go inside. But the entrance is completely blocked by the police. What a pity!"
Countless citizens stood in the plaza below, looking on helplessly.
Just as everyone was feeling disappointed, suddenly… all the plaza lights went out, and every advertising screen on the building lit up. Each screen displayed images of Vincent and Emma.
Countless eyes turned to look.
"Who’s that man?"
"Hey, the woman beside the mysterious tycoon… looks like Emma, the prettiest woman in M City from five years ago!"
Many people immediately recognized Emma, whom many men in M City once dreamed of. However, five years ago, Emma married a homeless man, breaking countless hearts. What a pity!
“Could the mysterious tycoon be the homeless man Emma married five years ago?” Someone exclaimed.
Everyone’s eyes widened in shock. The wedding five years ago had turned Emma into the laughingstock of M City overnight. No one had imagined that, five years later, the once-mocked homeless man would reveal himself as a mysterious tycoon!
At the restaurant's rooftop.
Vincent knelt on one knee while holding a delicate small box. He opened it to reveal a diamond ring.
“Oh my God, this is…” Emma gasped, covering her mouth with her hand.
With deep affection, Vincent said, “Five years ago, I failed you and your love. Now, I want to make amends for every mistake I made. The first step is to propose to you again. I want everyone to know that you made the right choice.” Vincent’s gaze was unwavering as he looked at Emma.
Seeing the sincerity in Vincent’s unyielding gaze, tears began to fall uncontrollably from Emma’s eyes.
“Vincent…”
