"Norman, stop this madness!" Franklin shouted desperately, realizing that Norman seemed ready to push Clement over the edge.
Norman roared, "Give me a billion, or I'll kill this old man!"
Franklin sighed, "A billion is too much. I can't come up with that much money." V&E Group's market value was only at a billion, so raising such a sum would mean selling off the entire company.
With a menacing look, Norman retorted, "Franklin, you're full of lies! Just yesterday, your son-in-law bought Dream Land and spent another fifty million on the Eternal Heart Ring to propose to Emma! How dare you say you can't come up with a billion?"
"This..." Franklin hesitated. After all, that money belonged to Vincent, not him.
"Norman, you're way out of line!" Emma couldn't hold back. "Grandpa favored you so much, and this is how you treat him? Are you even human?"
Norman scoffed, "Emma, I've never liked this pathetic old man. If he had made me the head of the Joseph family earlier, we wouldn't be in this mess."
Clement looked sorrowful after hearing Norman's harsh response. Norman's downfall was entirely of his own making. Now, he was shifting all the blame onto him. If control of the Joseph family had fallen into Norman's hands, they would have been ruined long ago.
"You jerk! How did I end up with such a jerk of a son!" Clement exclaimed.
Norman glared fiercely at Clement. "Shut up, old man! Cooperate with me and I'll send you to a nursing home once I get the a billion. Otherwise, I'll push you over!"
Clement sighed heavily. He was now at Norman's mercy, a mere puppet in his hands.
Addressing the TV reporters, Norman said, "Friends, I think you should interview Franklin. This heartless bastard not only swallowed up the entire Joseph family but also left us, father and son, with no way out."
The TV reporters quickly caught on, directing their questions at Franklin. "Mr. Joseph, is what your brother saying true? Did you swallow up the entire Joseph family and drive your own brother and father to the brink of suicide?"
Franklin had no interest in responding. His only concern was saving his father. How could he be bothered with these reporters?
Emma couldn't stand by and watch her father be maligned. Her face turned pale with anger as she addressed the reporters, "Norman is spouting nothing but nonsense! It was them who kicked my family out. After that, they offended the billionaire, Stanley Field, which led to their downfall. Their misfortune was brought on them by their own actions..."
"Emma, shut your mouth!" Norman yelled furiously as Emma exposed his lies.
Meanwhile, the entire M City was tuned into the live broadcast to watch the Joseph family's internal strife.
"You guys, who do you think is telling the truth, Norman or Franklin?"
"It's definitely Norman! Didn't you see how Franklin almost drove him to jump off the building?"
"I'm not so sure. It seems like Norman is lying!"
The internal strife within the Joseph family sparked discussions among the city's residents. If not handled well, Franklin would soon be ruined.
"Franklin, just give me a billion already! Can you bear to see this old man die?" Norman impatiently shouted at Franklin.
Norman's threat left Franklin troubled. He really couldn't come up with a billion.
Vincent, who had been silent all this while, stepped forward. "Norman, you want a billion? Here, take it!"
"Vincent..." Franklin looked up at Vincent, disbelief written all over his face.
Vincent smiled. "Dad, a billion is nothing to me. If he wants it, he can have it!"
Franklin, with the utmost gratitude, said "Vincent, thank you very much!”
"Vincent!!!" Norman's eyes turned red. Vincent was the sole cause of his current predicament.
Vincent calmly said, "Norman, I'll give you the money. Will you release Clement now?"
Norman paused. His goal right now was the money. As long as he got it, everything else would be fine. With a cold smirk, he asked, "Do you have that much money?"
Vincent chuckled. "Do you think I don't? I'm the mysterious tycoon, after all!"
Norman fell silent. Despite his reluctance to admit it, he knew Vincent wasn't an ordinary person, but he couldn't understand where Vincent had gotten all that money.
Gritting his teeth, Norman said, "Fine, give me a billion, and I'll let this old man go!"
"I hope you'll keep your word." Though Vincent disliked Clement, he couldn't ignore Franklin's feelings. If Clement died, Franklin would suffer.
Suddenly, Norman shouted, "Wait! I want cash, and I want a helicopter!"
Vincent nodded. "Alright, no problem."
Without hesitation, he pulled out his phone and called Stanley Field. "Stanley Field, prepare a billion in cash and a helicopter."
"Yes, Mr. Chesterton!"
About three minutes later, a helicopter appeared in the sky. Soon, Stanley Field descended from it, accompanied by a large group of bodyguards.
With respect, Stanley Field addressed Vincent, "Mr. Chesterton, the a billion in cash and helicopter are ready."
Dozens of bodyguards stepped forward, opening a suitcase revealing neatly stacked banknotes.
After seeing the pile of money, Norman couldn't contain his excitement. "Hurry up and give me the money!"
Vincent remained silent, casting a glance at Stanley Field.
Stanley Field waved his hand. "Give him the money!"
The bodyguards tossed the money to Norman.
"Hahaha, I'm rich!" Norman laughed triumphantly as he reached for the money.
"You bastard, you won't get away with this!" Suddenly, Clement roared and grabbed Norman tightly.
"Old man, do you have a death wish?"
Norman's face twisted with rage at Clement's interference, so, in a fit of rage, he pushed Clement off the rooftop.
"Dad!"
"Grandpa!"
Franklin and Emma watched in shock as Norman pushed Clement off the rooftop, causing their faces to drain of color.
"Help!"
Clement screamed in terror, his face pale with fear.
Suddenly, Vincent vanished into thin air.
