Chapter 63

Hearing this, Sid immediately opened the box. A human head appeared. Corey's eyes were wide open in terror, as if he had seen something horrifying just before he died. Seeing Corey's head, Sid's hands trembled, his mind filled with rage and grief, and he collapsed to the ground, crying out in agony, "Ah! My son!!!" Armand slumped into a chair, dazed and repeatedly asking himself, "How could this happen? Corey took over a hundred elite guards to M City to kill Vincent. How did it end up with Corey dead and in pieces?" Suddenly standing, Armand demanded, "Where is Maxwell? Where is our guard team?" The butler, head bowed and voice trembling, answered, "Mr. Joseph, our men found a dozen empty SUVs near the M City border, but everyone else has vanished..." Hearing this, Armand became so agitated that he coughed up blood. Maxwell and the elite guards' disappearance was a dire sign. These elites were a significant investment for the Joseph family, and their loss was a huge blow. Especially Maxwell, as a high-ranking member of the Dark Shadow, had been hired with ten million pounds. With Maxwell missing, Armand had no idea how to explain this to the Dark Shadow. Armand stared intensely at the butler and urgently asked, "Who brought Corey's head back?" The butler, trembling, replied, "A stranger delivered it..." Armand roared, "Where is that stranger? Where is he?" The butler replied, "He left, but before leaving, he left a letter for you." Armand urgently commanded, "Why didn't you say so earlier? Give me the letter!" The butler pulled a letter from his pocket and handed it to Armand. Armand tore open the envelope and pulled out the letter. On it was a single word written in blood—DEATH. The blood had soaked through the paper, its scent of blood filling the air. Shocked, Armand fell back into his chair and dropped the letter. The others, seeing the blood-soaked letter, felt a wave of fear wash over them. Sid asked, "Dad, what does this mean? Who sent the letter?" Armand, looking as if he had aged ten years in an instant, weakly said, "It must be Vincent. 'Death' means he's decided to come after our family." Hearing this, Sid furiously shouted, "He killed my son. If Vincent dares come here, I'll kill him myself!" Armand sighed deeply, saying, "If even Maxwell from the Dark Shadow might be dead, what chance do we have against Vincent?" Sid, unwilling to give up, asked, "So, are we just going to sit here and wait to die?" Armand stood up, determination etched on his face. "Issue my orders: raise the villa's security to the highest level. No one leaves until this threat is over!" The butler nodded and hurriedly left to execute the order. Armand then turned to Sid. "Sid, send a distress signal to our headquarters in England." Sid nodded and left the room. Armand gritted his teeth and muttered, "Vincent, even if you want to destroy the Joseph family, I will make you pay dearly for it." That night. Armand and Sid sat in the hall, too anxious to sleep. Sid, with curiosity getting the better of him, asked, "Dad, do you really think Vincent will come?" Armand nodded. "Since he sent that letter, it means he's already decided to take action against us." Armand looked at Sid. "Did you take care of everything? Did you send the distress signal to headquarters?" Sid nodded confidently. "Dad, don't worry. I did everything as you said. If Vincent dares to come, I'll make sure he goes straight to hell..." Before Sid could finish his sentence, a loud bang echoed through the hall. The villa's front door was kicked open. Armand and Sid looked up sharply. A tall figure walked in, followed by a group of heavily armed soldiers. "Vincent!" Sid shouted, standing up immediately. Vincent glanced at Sid and chuckled. "Sid, I didn't expect your legs to heal so quickly. It seems the Joseph family spent a lot of money on you." Sid's face darkened. Vincent had been the one to injure his legs, nearly crippling him. Gritting his teeth, Sid spat out, "Vincent, I can't believe you actually came to our family!" Vincent grabbed a chair, sat down, and said calmly, "Earlier today, Corey came to M City and cause trouble here. I sent his head back. You must have received it by now." Sid clenched his fists, his teeth grinding in anger. "Vincent, you killed my son. I'm going to kill you to avenge him!" Suddenly, Armand shouted, "Stop!" Sid turned to Armand. "Dad!" Armand roared, "Stand down!" Though reluctant, Sid stepped back. "Are you Vincent?" Armand asked, staring at Vincent. It was his first time seeing Vincent, and he was surprised by how young Vincent looked. Vincent smiled. "Yes, I'm Vincent. And you're Armand, head of the Joseph family?" Armand snorted. "Did you kill my grandson, Corey?" Vincent nodded. "Yes, I did." Armand nodded in turn. "I never thought you would come here. Alright then, this saves us the trouble of hunting you down!" With a command, hundreds of armed men surrounded Vincent and his soldiers. With weapons at the ready, they glared at Vincent. Despite being surrounded, Vincent remained calm. Armand stood, staring at Vincent. "Vincent, this is your doing! You killed my grandson. Today, I will kill you to avenge him!"
