Chapter 38

1086 Words
Inside Arltington Castle, Stanley Field was preparing for the task Vincent had assigned him. "For tomorrow's bidding conference, remember, the industrial park project must be awarded to V&E Group." Stanley Field instructed his secretary. This was a matter that Vincent had personally called to arrange, so Stanley Field could not even be a bit negligent. The secretary nodded, "Alright, Chairman." Bang! Just then, the villa's front door was kicked open. "Where's Stanley Field? Get out here right now!" Sid shouted as he led a large group of people into the villa. "Ah!" The secretary screamed in fright. Stanley Field looked up, furrowing his brows and asking, "I'm Stanley Field. Who are you?" Someone rudely intruding into his private property angered Stanley Field greatly. However, seeing the menacing look on the intruders' faces, he knew they were up to no good. Sid stared at Stanley Field and said, "So you're Stanley Field. I'm Sid Joseph from England. I'm here to inform you that we, the Joseph family, want the industrial park project at tomorrow's bidding conference. I don't want any other possible outcomes!" With the bidding conference just a day away, Sid chose the most direct and brutal method to ensure that the industrial park project would be theirs. He directly threatened Stanley Field, believing that with the reputation of the Joseph family in England, Stanley Field would not dare to disobey. "The Joseph family in England?" Stanley Field muttered to himself. He knew they were a moderately powerful family in England. In the past, Stanley Field might have tried to curry favor with them, as businessmen never had enough friends. But now, having promised Vincent that he would give the industrial park project to V&E Group, he would not hand it over to anyone else. Serving the King meant being loyal to the King, and that was an ironclad rule. Moreover, Sid and his men had barged into his home, invaded his private property, and arrogantly made such an unreasonable demand. Stanley Field would not be friendly to them in any way. Stanley Field scowled, "I don’t care who you are! You think you can just barge into my home like this and expect me to give you the industrial park project, do you think you’re that important?" "Hahaha!" Upon hearing this, Sid laughed loudly." Stanley Field, don't think you're some big deal just because you're the richest man in M City. In my eyes, you're nothing but a bug. If you give me the industrial park project, we can become good partners. If not..." Sid's expression gradually became ferocious as he spoke. Norman also stepped forward, "Stanley Field, know your place. I advise you to listen to Sid and not look for trouble!" Although Norman had once been respectful towards Stanley Field, now, as he was working for the Joseph family in England, he did not care about him at all. Being able to shout at Stanley Field now gave Norman a great sense of satisfaction. Stanley Field looked at Norman with sarcastic look, "Who are you to talk to me like that? Have you forgotten how your family once knelt at my doorstep?" "You..." Norman immediately turned red with anger. In the past, during Stanley Field's banquet, Vincent and Stanley Field had jointly forced Norman and his family to kneel at the doorstep. They lost all dignity. Now, Stanley Field's reminder made Norman lose even more of it! "Alright, let's not talk about your past mishaps. We're here to discuss the industrial park project." Sid glared at Norman angrily, wondering why this i***t suddenly interjected. Norman immediately fell silent, only glaring venomously at Stanley Field. Sid stared at Stanley Field with arrogance and asked, "I'll just ask you one question, will you give the industrial park project to the Joseph family?" "Dream on! How dare you barge into my home, do you think I'm an easy target? Come on, get them out of here!" Stanley Field sneered coldly, and immediately, dozens of bodyguards rushed in and surrounded Sid and his men. Sid glanced at the bodyguards disdainfully and said, "Just a bunch of trash, daring to act freely in front of me. You're asking for trouble!" "Scarface, handle these fools," Sid said calmly to a scarred man by his side. This man, known as "Scarface," was a professional assassin Sid had specially brought along from England. Scarface looked at Stanley Field's bodyguards mockingly and said, "Don't worry, I'll take care of these fools." As he spoke, he dashed out like a speeding bullet. Bang! Bang! Bang! Within just two minutes, Stanley Field's bodyguards were knocked to the ground. "Who are you?!" Stanley Field stared at Scarface as he shouted incredulously. Although his bodyguards were all retired military personnel, they still paled in comparison to this killer. Sid chuckled, "Stanley Field, you seem to be ignorant. I bought this man from the black market. He practices an ancient assassination technique. I advise you to be sensible and hand over the industrial park project to me tomorrow. Otherwise; well, you've seen Scarface's strength; I advise you to think more carefully about your life." After saying this, he left with his men, strutting out with a bit of swagger in his step. Watching Sid's departing figure, Stanley Field clenched his fists and his face turned grim. Stanley Field knew that he couldn't deal with Sid on his own. He took out his phone and called Vincent, "Mr. Chesterton, the people from some people from the Joseph family in England came to see me..." "The Joseph family in England? Are they really that stubborn?" Upon hearing this, Vincent sneered coldly. "Mr. Chesterton, they brought a mysterious assassin with them. According to Sid, he practices an ancient assassination technique. I saw with my own eyes how that assassin knocked down dozens of my bodyguards. They seem prepared for a conflict!" "Huh, a mere assassin is nothing! You can give the industrial park project to V&E Group as we discussed tomorrow. As for the Joseph family, I'll help you deal with them." "Thank you, Mr. Chesterton!" After hanging up the phone, Stanley Field let out a sigh of relief. If he didn’t have Vincent's support, he would probably have to yield to Sid. On the other end of the phone, Vincent chuckled to himself, "The Joseph family… You're really asking for trouble! Daring to compete with my wife for projects? It seems the lesson I gave you last time wasn't enough. This time, I'll give you a more serious one."
