Chapter 16

Once more, a thunderous roar filled the air as three helicopters soared through the distant sky. Their propellers churned up strong winds, causing everyone nearby to fight to maintain their balance. A massive transport helicopter descended gradually, casting a brilliant light that illuminated the night as if it were day. Over a hundred soldiers assembled into two lines at the landing zone. In the next moment, the helicopter doors opened. Vincent, dressed in a black suit, descended from the aircraft slowly, followed by the Five Star General, Galahad. All eyes focused on him. "Long live the KING," the soldiers roared in unison. Faced with such a powerful presence, all the high society figures from M City who were attending the banquet couldn't resist bowing. Vincent paid no attention to the others' gazes as he scanned the crowd for Emma's figure. "How can it be?" The members of the Joseph family and the Barton family were dumbfounded at Vincent's appearance. "What does 'King' mean?" "Vincent!" Emma shouted and rushed over. "What happened? Who hurt you?" Vincent's expression darkened as he saw Emma crying. "I..." Emma collapsed into Vincent's arms and recounted what had just happened. "I should have known better. I shouldn't have let you come alone. It's my fault," Vincent said softly, stroking Emma's hair. Then, in the next moment, Vincent turned to face the members of the Joseph family and the Barton family with anger. "I warned you yesterday to publicly apologize to Emma within a week, or else I would make the Joseph family disappear from M City." Vincent looked at the members of the Joseph family and shouted with a furious tone. "But now, I don't see any intention from you to apologize. Instead, your attitude towards Emma has become even worse. You dared to publicly snatch the gold invitation I gave her. It's like you're asking for death." As Vincent's words fell, countless black gun barrels were aimed at the members of the Joseph family. "Vincent, what do you think you're doing? Do you really dare to kill us?" Edison yelled through gritted teeth. "This is a society governed by law. You have no right to kill me." Bang! A gunshot rang out, and a bullet pierced through Edison's thigh. Edison screamed in agony, unable to support his legs, and fell to the ground. Seeing this, everyone present exclaimed in shock. They didn't expect Vincent to be so decisive in firing a gun. Seconds later, the guests reacted and began to panic and flee. They didn't want to die here. Clement, his lips trembling, asked, "Vincent, what are you trying to do? They may call you 'King,' but you're acting more like a tyrant!" "You're right, I am a tyrant. You disobeyed my orders, so I'm going to end your lives," Vincent ignored Clement and turned to his men, commanding, "Capture all members of the Joseph family and bring them here for execution." The air around them instantly chilled to freezing point. "Yes, my lord!" With that command, dozens of soldiers rushed forward, apprehending all members of the Joseph family. "Vincent, please, spare us!" Norman was the first to kneel, his face filled with pleading. "It's all his fault, it's Clement Joseph. He forced Emma to hand over the invitation and pressured her to divorce you! None of this is our doing!" Faced with death, Norman and Edison shifted all blame onto Clement. Clement, seeing this, cursed angrily, "You two bastards!" "Dad, you've lived for so long already, even if you don't die, you don't have many years left. But we're different. If we die, who will inherit the Joseph family’s assets?” “Grandpa, my dad's right, you better hurry up and die, and pass the position of family head to my dad!" Faced with death, Norman and Edison were still using their foolish brains to vie for the Joseph family's assets. They were selfish and foolish. ‘As long as my life will be spared, family...and father...they are nothing!’ This thought swirled in their mind. "You..." Clement was too furious to get his words out. "Are you putting on some kind of comedy show? Remember, it's the entire Joseph family. You will all be killed by me!" Vincent sneered coldly, a hint of mockery in his eyes. What? Hearing Vincent's words, Clement and the others were crestfallen. "Franklin, are you really going to stand by and watch Vincent kill your father?" Seeing that pleading with Vincent was futile, Clement could only turn his gaze to Franklin. "Well..." Franklin looked embarrassed. "We've already been expelled from the Joseph family. There's nothing we can do to help you!" Una looked helpless on the surface, but inwardly, she couldn't suppress her excitement. Clement and the others showed despair on their faces as they crawled to Emma's side, begging desperately, "Emma, are you really going to let your husband kill your grandfather?" "Sis, I apologize to you. I'm still young, I really don't want to die!" Faced with Clement and the others' desperate pleas, kind-hearted Emma couldn't bear it. Besides, she firmly believed that killing was a crime, and she couldn't condone her husband committing such an act. But Emma didn't know, her husband was the leader of the most mysterious organization in the world. He could kill whoever he wanted, and no one could stop him, nor could any law judge him. "Vincent, don't kill them," Emma lifted her head to look at Vincent. Vincent shook his head helplessly. To him, Although Emma was filled with hatred towards the Joseph family at the moment, she didn't believe it was necessary to kill them. "If you want to live, all of you must kneel here and repent. Without my permission, no one is allowed to get up!" Vincent's gaze was icy as he swept over the Joseph family members. "Apologize to my wife and beg for her forgiveness!" "Yes, yes!" Clement and the others didn't hesitate to kneel before Emma. "Emma, thank you." "Please forgive us!" Hearing Clement and the others' words, Emma suddenly felt very sad. ‘Are these despicable people really my family? Did they ever think, when they drove me away and forced me, that now they would kneel on the ground begging me to spare their lives?’ "I didn't say I would forgive you!" Emma felt disgusted. "Then You will kneel until Emma forgive you," Vincent turned to Galahad. "Go get Stanley Field for me."  "Yes, my lord," Galahad complied and left. A minute later, Stanley Field followed Galahad back. He knelt before Vincent. "My lord, what are your orders?" "Split all the assets of the Joseph Group. There will be no more of them in M City," Vincent said coldly. "Yes, my lord," Stanley Field replied solemnly. Upon hearing this, Clement felt a wave of despair wash over him. He realized that the fate of the Joseph family was sealed.
