LUCIA TORRES
I pushed open the biggl doors and saw Alpha Damian sitted on a throne-like chair at the far end of the hall, surrounded by his loyal followers, each displaying unwavering loyalty in their eyes when I stepped in.
He smiled when I walked in, his piercing eyes carefully watching me with unasked questions. "What brings you to my domain, Lucia?" His voice resonated in the hall, commanding attention and respect.
Taking a deep breath, I mustered all my courage, "My children have been taken from me. I need your help, Alpha Damian. You're the only one I know who can match their strength."
He studied me for a while. "How do you mean 'taken?'"
"They have been kidn*pped by Alpha Iver and his pack." I said and I noticed a sudden change in the room.
The atmosphere in the grand hall shifted, tension palpable in the air. He leaned forward, his eyes never leaving my face. "You left this world behind, Lucia. You chose a human life, to be a lone wolf, turned your back on everything we were. Why should I help you now?"
"I know I made mistakes." I admitted, my voice quivering with emotion. "But my children are innocent in all of this. They don't deserve to suffer because of my past."
He regarded me silently for a moment before speaking. "How did you get involved with Alpha Iver, he is a dangerous werewolf that meddles with dark magic."
"I really don't know," I said, shaking my head. "But the short answer is that they kidn*pped my children to force me to steal an artifact that would help him create a pack of Alphas." I confessed, tears running down my cheeks.
He paused, looking from me to the rest of his pack around him. "Lucia, your plea moves me, but I must tread carefully." He paused to think. "The situation you describe is perilous, and my involvement could have dire consequences, I've had a run in with Alpha Iver in the past." He shook his head. "Tell me, why should I risk everything for the sake of your children?"
My eyes brimmed with tears as I pleaded, "Alpha Damian, I know the risks, and I understand the weight of my request. But my children... They are innocent, and they are the only family I have left. I am willing to do anything, pay any price, if you can help me save them."
He closed his eyes and I saw a wave of nostalgia hit him. "I'm not convinced, it's unfortunate that your children have been kidn*pped, but this is not my battle." He said softly.
I fell on my knees, hoping it'll strike a chord in his heart. "Please Alpha Damian, I have no one else to turn to."
His expression softened slightly and he leaned forward, his voice a low growl, "Lucia, you were once my love, my heartthrob, and the bond we shared ran deep. But times have changed, not just with me but with also with the werewolf world. If I intervene, it will come at a cost, not just to me but also to my pack." He paused and looked keenly at me. "One of the things that comes with being a leader is that you get to choose which battles you'd want to fight, as it usually comes with price and in most cases, some members of my pack could pay the ultimate price. I'm sorry Lucia, but this is not my battle."
My heart sank, but I steeled myself, my voice resolute. "I am prepared for whatever it takes, Alpha Damian. My childrens lives are worth of any sacrifice."
A glimmer of satisfaction flashed in his eyes and he rose from his throne, his towering presence commanding the room. "Very well Lucia. Your resolve impresses me. I will lend you my aid, but be warned, the path we tread will be treacherous and filled with darkness. Alpha Iver is a dangerous figure, you must be prepared to embrace the consequences."
Relief washed over me as I bowed my head expressing my gratitude. He motioned for me to rise, his voice carrying a note of warning, "Remember, Lucia, in this realm, power is a double-edged sword. To defeat those who possess unimaginable ambitions and abilities, you must be willing to unleash your own."
With a newfound determination I nodded, ready to embrace whatever lay ahead. I had walked into the den of the ruthless Alpha by my actions and inactions, and now I would have to face any perils that awaits me. "I'm most grateful Alpha Damian, I can't thank you enough. I know the journey ahead would push me to the limits of my strength, resilience, and sacrifice. But it's something I have to do."
As I spoke, it dawned on me that I never truly stopped loving him despite all these years, and was quite confident the feeling was mutual. Maybe interesting times lay ahead, we shall see about that.
