Chapter 20“Welcome to the fold, ladies.” Doctor Conley’s heels clicked on the terrazzo floors. A smug, proud smile reached his eyes as he escorted two women in orange jumpsuits through the NORAD facility. “I trust you’ll find your accommodations here far more favorable to the ones you had in Denver. As long as you stay on my good side, that is.”
“Where are we?” a chubby-faced Latina woman asked.
“Not anywhere you’ll find on a map, Rosita. Deep in the Colorado mountains. In the middle of nowhere.”
She nibbled on her bottom lip to stop it from trembling. “What are you going to do with us?”
“I’m sorry, I’ll have to insist on total secrecy until we know how you will fit in here. We can’t send you back knowing any more than necessary.”
“Warden Walker told us we wouldn’t be able to leave,”
