Chapter 24Chase sucked in a shallow breath as he collapsed on the freezing stone floor. Somehow, he had managed to drag himself through the forest, into the cave, through the crevice and into the safe house Shannon secretly had built for him.
Blood oozed from his abdomen. Every inhalation sent pain shooting through his entire torso. Sweat peppered his forehead and his teeth were killing him from grinding his jaw. Most of his trek had been made on his hands and knees, leaving his wound open to dirt and brush. He should clean it, but he was just so damn tired.
His thoughts turned to Isabella and his chest tightened. Her horrific screams that carried through the pod were mind-numbing. One of the wolves had already taken him out by then, but he should have powered through it. Chase balled up
