Chapter 25God, she was starving. Winter had killed off any remaining fruit in the area. She couldn’t eat, and now that Isabella couldn’t sleep, either, her growling stomach was all she could think about. Chase was still passed out beside her. He shivered every so often, but his skin was warm to the touch. Maybe he felt warm just because Isabella was cold, too. The fire dried out the blankets from both their packs enough so she could tuck it around him. She huffed, and sat down, dangling her feet into the river. Since the water was partially fed from the spring, it was only a few degrees cooler than the spring itself. A glimmer of seaweed at the bottom caught her eye, and her stomach made a horrifying sound, making her decision for her. A glance at Chase told her she wouldn’t be missed,
