Chapter 30An icy wind blew into the cabin of the helicopter as it lowered on to the rooftop. The frozen landscape below was a fitting offering from nature; it mirrored the frigid disposition of all those being carried back to the prison. Two choppers had come to pick them up from the pod. Isabella made the deliberate choice to seek refuge in the one that didn’t carry Chase. She would rather sit in resentful silence next to the brutish drones than with him. At least with this pack of jackasses she knew who her enemy was. The seat shook beneath her as the landing skid made contact with the helipad. She released an unsteady breath as she removed her headgear. Chase was already outside, waiting for her to exit. Fuck him, she told herself. You’re not a damsel. You’re not a stupid dragonet. Y
