Chapter 31“Why couldn’t you just leave her alone?” Brayden winced as Shannon inserted the IV catheter into his arm.
Other than mild dehydration, all the subjects who returned from the dome were perfectly unharmed. Brayden and Chase were the last of the recruits to see the nurse for clearance. Ironic, since Chase was the one who needed the most care. Shannon needed them alone, though. Saving Isabella proved more difficult than she had anticipated, and it was time to bring in a third party.
The men sat on opposite ends of the room, but the tension crackling in the air was thick enough to fill the physical void between them. Convincing them to work together would be next to impossible, she knew as much. But, for the sake of Isabella, she was convinced they could put their differences aside.
