Chapter 12Good God, it was hot. Isabella panted as sweat drenched her entire body. She hadn’t slept but for maybe an hour. It was too suffocating. The cave seemed to trap the heat in. To top it off, every minuscule sound outside had her hair standing on end. Every time a bug chirped, or a leaf cracked she was at attention, waiting for one of them to come charging in at her. Her knife had become an extension of her hand, the handle leaving an imprint in her palm. She clicked it closed, and rubbed the marking it left behind on her skin. A hint of sunrise showed through the tiny hole in the cave wall. Now was probably a good time to get out of this oven before she was baked alive. The guys were probably sleeping.
