Ji-Hyun's heart pounded as Chairman Lee's men closed in. Su-Ho stood firm, shielding her and her father.
"We need to get out, now," Su-Ho whispered, eyes scanning the room.
Ji-Hyun's father nodded. "I have an idea."
He pulled out a small device from his pocket and pressed a button. The room filled with a blinding flash of light.
"Run!" Ji-Hyun's father yelled.
They sprinted through the darkness, Su-Ho leading the way. Ji-Hyun stumbled, her eyes adjusting slowly.
Suddenly, gunfire echoed through the corridor. Chairman Lee's men had recovered.
"We can't outrun them," Su-Ho panted. "We need a new plan."
Ji-Hyun's father halted, examining their surroundings. "This way."
He pushed open a maintenance door, revealing a narrow stairwell.
"Down there," he urged. "It leads to the underground tunnels."
Ji-Hyun hesitated, unsure if they could trust Su-Ho.
But Su-Ho's determined gaze reassured her. "I'll protect you."
Together, they descended into the unknown.
The stairwell spiralled downward, plunging them into darkness. Ji-Hyun's heart raced as they reached the bottom.
"Wait," Su-Ho whispered, his eyes adjusting to the dim light.
Ji-Hyun's father nodded, producing a flashlight from his pocket. The beam illuminated a narrow tunnel, stretching into the shadows.
"This way," he said, leading them forward.
As they walked, the air grew thick with dust. Ji-Hyun coughed, covering her mouth.
Suddenly, Su-Ho stopped, his head c****d. "Do you hear that?"
