Ji-Hyun's heart raced as her father rushed her out of the house. "We have to get out of here, now!"
They sped through the streets, Ji-Hyun's mind reeling with questions. "Who are they? What do they want?"
Her father's face was grim. "The Serpent's Circle will stop at nothing to keep their secrets safe."
Suddenly, their car screeched to a halt. Ji-Hyun's father had lost control. They were surrounded....
A sea of black-clad figures closed in, their faces hidden behind masks. Ji-Hyun's father pushed her away. "Run, Ji-Hyun! Save yourself!"
Ji-Hyun hesitated, torn between saving herself and saving her father. But it was too late. The figures dragged him away, leaving Ji-Hyun alone and frightened....
Ji-Hyun's world went dark as she watched her father disappear into the night. She knew she had to act fast.
With shaking hands, Ji-Hyun pulled out her phone and dialed Su-Ho's number. It rang once, twice, before he answered.
"Su-Ho, it's Ji-Hyun. They took my father!" Ji-Hyun's voice trembled.
Su-Ho's tone was urgent. "Where are you?"
Ji-Hyun glanced around, disoriented. "I...I don't know. They ambushed us."
Su-Ho's voice calmed her. "Stay where you are. I'll find you."
Ji-Hyun waited, her heart pounding in her chest. Minutes ticked by, feeling like hours.
Suddenly, a sleek black car screeched to a halt beside her. Su-Ho leapt out, his eyes scanning the area.
"Get in," he ordered, opening the door.
Ji-Hyun hesitated, unsure if she could trust him. But Su-Ho's determined gaze reassured her.
As they sped away, Ji-Hyun turned to Su-Ho. "What's going on? Why did they take my father?"
Su-Ho's jaw clenched. "The Serpent's Circle wants to silence him. He knows too much."
Ji-Hyun's eyes widened. "What does my father have to do with it?"
Su-Ho's expression turned grim. "Your father was involved deeper than he let on."
Ji-Hyun's mind reeled. What secrets had her father kept hidden?
And then, Su-Ho's words cut through the darkness. "We'll get your father back, Ji-Hyun. Together."
