Decedent of the elements

I awoke at dawn sleepy as always. Wondering why on earth Grandfather insisted I train this early in the morning, It should be illegal. I groaned as I sat up on the side of the bed. Rubbing my eyes that always was considered a mystery, everyone in my family had these brown chocolate eyes but somehow I was born with green eyes with a hint of golden in them. Which my Grandfather told me was a gift from gods apparently. My training as I had every morning at 7 o’clock never a minute later. Considered of Hand to hand combat, some sort of weapons training my personal favorite was two larger daggers sense I didn’t really have the strength for a sword and always felt a little to medieval for my taste. And after lunch I practiced my elements, being what we were was Elemetelist it took time too refine or magic. It’s a bit unclear of how my people came to be some say we are a mix of fae or some kind of witches. We believe we are formed from the gods too protect the natural elements of the earth. Helping the plants to grown and flourish. Bending the water to help grow the plants. Using the wind to pollinate and the fire to help overgrowth. That is what we were thought too believe. And maybe in the beginning it’s what we used our magic for but now it’s a power play of who can bend the elements the best. It’s who dominates our people and also the ones who drove my family out of our homeland and in too this realm of man. My clock rang again I must have spaced out thinking of the old times again. I did that a lot, I had a passion for books especially history wether it be our history or on the battles of man and King Arthur, the fea and it’s different kingdom and magic. We had quite the library and a larger collection of Fae books. Which Grandfather was very strict that it could never leave the library it was enchanted from Fae he said, and if they found out that these books were here it would be very very bad, and then he gave me a stern look and of I was, I knew better then too argue when he gave me that look. My room was quiet large with a big window looking out of our garden and the lake a bit farther down It always made me feel peaceful too look over the water. I changed in too black leggings and black sports bra. Because of the training I considered myself pretty toned with a hint of abs showing, though i had more curves then I liked sense most of my people usually hade quite thin frames, at least that’s what i gathered from all the paintings we have,I’ve learned too embrace them though at least a little anyways. With blond unruly curls thick darker eye brows and a little little tiny nose as my mom always pointed out. I thought myself mediocre but my friend Sarah always said i was Beauty. I did a double check in the mirror and I felt like the gold in my eyes glowed a bit extra today. It Felt like an omen, maybe something new was gonna happen I hoped. I loved it here with grandfather don’t get me wrong but I’ve lived with him ever sense my powers started appearing when I was 8 now at 19 I felt like I wanted to see the world fall in love maybe live my Mom and baby sister who was 11. But my grandfather was stern I was to train for myself to learn how the weald the gifts the gods had given me. Also another kind of mystery of my people, not all was born with the gifts of the elements. Some could go generations without anyone having any magic but some having everyone one in their family born with it. My grandfather was one of the most powerful of my people at least according too or history books. And my great grandmother was what we called a “Druessa” witch meant she possessed all of the five elements and she could weald them without limitations. The fifth elements you may wonder is the element of light. An extremely rare gift to be given and was wanted by many other beings sense it could help with darkness that had possessed a lot of worlds. The darkness started to appear after the last war between the Fae. It happened more then 3000 years ago when Kingdom of Negrasa and the Seelie kingdom hade one of the largest battles ever written. It was believed that when the kings of each kingdom battled against one another with their magic they opened up a portal too the Land of shadows. A dark and Evil place where even the most horrendous of creatures wouldn’t dare going. It was ruled by the Shadow king once Fae but overtaken by black magic, he created his own realm where he and his creations could live without disturbances. The kings of the old world then worked together too seal the realm shut forever. They were scared of all the power the shadow king had gathered. It was not until much later that the Fae kings understood what there actions hade cost. First lesson of the day was done, practice with her tutor Henric had gone well. What Jessica made up for in strength she made up for in speed instead. She was fast and quiet the little worm Henric always said. He was one of grandfathers most trusted friends and had come with him when he fled our homeland. Most Elementelist had a infinity for one element we could all wield them but some we were stronger in. Henrics was air which meant he was always light on his feet one of the reasons my grandfather wanted me to train with him. Henric - you need too start blocking your left Side even more ur wide open for me. and when u block try using ur whole body instead of just ur upper one. But otherwise good job today Jess. Jessica- Thanks, ur looking a little weak on ur your right knee maybe that old age is finally getting too you huh? Henric laught and just shook his head. His brown hair and little grey highlights framing his forehead. When we got inside the house the television was on which was odd cuz we weren’t allowed to have it on during the day. And mostly everyone of my grandfathers students and fellow teachers stood by the tele. My stomach fell as my gaze landed on the tv. It was the news reporting live from US . - Reporting live from Washington. A blackout in several states have appeared. Reports and reports of missing people and assaults of beings that could only be described as aliens. They have brought swords and arrows. They are reported riding on horses and events that are described as the aliens were using magic or some kind of un earthly technology. We need help the police is not enough we need the US military. Please everyone stay inside. I looked around and everyone including my Grandpa hade the look of horror in their eyes. We new, we new the truth. They weren’t any Aliens, it was Fae. The Fae hade finally come to claim the world of man. And we of all creatures feared the Fae kind the most. They had butchered my kind to the brink of extinction once. Apparently the just loved the taste of our blood and the magic inside. And the once born with gift of light were sought after especially from the Fae. And the “ Duressas” they hunted them like wild animals. My grandfather turned around so slowly from where he stood by the right side of the tele. And he gave me fearful look that said everything. Our lives as we new would never be the same. If I only new then the hurt and pain that I would feel in the years too come. My secret that most people in this house didn’t know not even Henric was that I could weld all the five elements even the gift of light. No one could now especially now. I hade to leave staying and risking these people I couldn’t bear it.
