Week 2 - Designing a character

Mia Williams

23 years old, 5,5 ft. Hair going mid-waist in dark brown waves, shimmering with gold in the sun and deep brown eyes. Her body is well defined since she loves her workouts. She lives alone in her apartment and works a 9-5 job as an office manager at a genetic science company.

Personality

She has a big heart and a kind soul. Outwards she shows strength and confidence. She has a strong will and morals. To those lucky ones, she is vulnerable. You will not see her in the center of the party, well at least not if she is sober and most of the time she keeps a corner, being reserved and prefers to observe others. She chooses her friends wise and therefore only keeps a handful of them. She has a good relationship with her mother and talks often, especially since her father passed away. 

Childhood

Growing up as a daughter to an officer she was trained from a young age in combat and weapon handling. This when her father was convinced that she needed to learn how to take care of herself. Her mother represented most of the emotional support and guidance to keeping a big and open heart. Which she also did for most part growing up. Being a positive little ray of sunshine. But that changed the day she was betrayed in love. By her highschool sweetheart and after that happened, she decided that she didn't need love in her life like that. She decided to stay by herself and keep her heart locked away. 

Growing up she always matched boys better than other girls, naturally when you have been brought up to take care of yourself, playing with guns and fighting techniques instead of dolls and also, her communication was nothing like other girls. She could never understand all that scheming that went on behind backs. 

Mia decides to enter the army, or atleast to do basic training to honor her belated father whom she still mourned and also, it was a familiar environment, she didn't mind it since she had been to camp many times, trotting behind her father to morning assembly, she felt comfortable in the environment. It was a simple living to her, you wake up, work out, eat, perform any task given to you, sleep and repeat.

Social relations

Mother - Her all loving mother, always so calm but also submissive to Mia’s father, until he passes away. The relationship between mother and daughter in some way changes then, and evolves more to a relationship between two friends and sometimes even changing their parts to Mia taking care of her mother. 

Tom - The big goofy flirt, used to having one girl at each hand and a real party prince. He is built like a house pretty much (or atleast looks like he could lift one). He is loud and always tries his best to amuse Mia, could it be that he is having a crush on her? 

Chris - The silent nerdy guy who Mia loves to play online games with, they also have common interests in music and computer science.
