Chapter 3:Glitter

Alex woke up to a beautiful smell, it was her, the girl who kept appearing in his dreams without a face and even touch, every time he reaches out to her she jerks back and run away, he didn't know why she was scared but he wanted to hold her and she looked like an angel straight from the heavens He got out of bed to walked to his window, looking down at his land, this had been his father's land and house, but after he died, he changed everything, moving every little memory out of the house, he couldn't bear to see anything that reminds him of his father, he took a deep breath and smelled that scent again, he thought it was in his dreams but he could actually smell it here, he walked downstairs nodding to his passing staff who kept greeting him As he stepped into the second floor, he was hit with a familiar yet unexpected scent. His eyes narrowed, and his pace quickened, his long strides devouring the distance. For the first time in his life, he felt a surge of anger coursing through his veins. He owned this grand house, and he wanted to confront the person responsible for the smell before they could escape again. The aroma was coming from the kitchen. He almost took the stairs two at a time, his hand grasping the banister to steady himself. Finally, he burst into the kitchen, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of the source. That's when he saw her – his mother, busily baking something in the oven. "Ah, good morning, son!" she chimed, a warm smile spreading across her face. She walked over to him, planting a gentle kiss on his cheek before pulling his hand to lead him to the table. "Come sit with me and have some breakfast." He couldn't help but ask, his eyes still scanning the kitchen for any signs of something amiss, "What's that smell?" He hoped to catch a glimpse of something unusual, anything that might explain the strange sensation building inside him. His mother chuckled, a twinkle in her eye. "Oh, it's just some baked goods I ordered yesterday. I was heating up the leftovers, but I think I might have bought too much." She patted his hand reassuringly. "Don't worry, dear, it's just a little something I whipped up. Now, how about some breakfast?" As he sat down beside her, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. The smell, the atmosphere, everything seemed like peace, he longed for this feeling, he craved it. He pushed the thoughts aside, attributing them to his overactive imagination, and focused on enjoying the rare moment with his mother. But the seed of curiosity had been planted, and he couldn't help but wonder why that person kept popping his his dreams, and driving him crazy “Where did you get them” He wanted to know, this could lead him to this person His mother's words were nonchalant, but they sparked a curiosity within him that he couldn't ignore. "Oh, it was Ode who told me about this place that sold delicious sweets and cakes," she said, her eyes fixed on her food as she took a bite. "I was craving something sweet yesterday, and she ordered some for me. I don't know where she got them, but you can ask her if you're interested." As his mother continued eating, seemingly oblivious to his growing interest, he found himself becoming increasingly fixated on finding this mysterious person. But what really drew him in was the scent. Every time he had seen this person in his dreams, she smelled like fresh-baked cakes and something sweet. It was a scent that had haunted him, lingering in his mind long after he woke up. And now, here it was, wafting from the kitchen, making his heart race and his body stir. He was starting to get hard, a sensation he rarely experienced. It was as if his body was responding to the scent, recognizing it as something familiar and desirable. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, trying to push aside the growing arousal. But it was no use; his mind was already racing with thoughts of this mysterious person, wondering who she was and why she had such a profound effect on him. "I'll ask her," he stated, trying to sound nonchalant despite the turmoil brewing inside him. His mother looked up at him, a hint of surprise in her eyes, but she said nothing, simply returning to her meal. He pushed his chair back, his mind made up. This was ridiculous, this was just a phase that will pass anytime soon, he didn't have time for love, he had a rule he wasn't going to break for anyone, no love, he was still young and all that matters now is his business, an heir will fall into place, he doesn't need to love a woman to get an heir, with that he strode out of the kitchen to get on with his day “Boss, repair may take a while, new parts are needed on this one” Bruno said as he walked up to his boss, who was sitting in his office chair, typing rapidly on his laptop. Alex raised his eyebrow in question as if telling Bruno “And?” “I found this on the floor close to your car” Bruno said as he handed over the green wallet to his boss, Alex looked at it for a moment before taking it from him, this was definitely that lady's wallet, when his mind drifted back to that memory, he fumed in anger, remembering his precious car, he threw it to the side which landed on the couch in the office “This has nothing to do with my day, tell me something important” Alex said as he goes back to focusing on his laptop “ Ross Mario asked for a meeting with you, he said he has a business idea he wants to share with you and it will be worth your time” “ Next” “Mr Angelo called” “ What does he want this time” “He was pissed that you left his daughter alone in that restaurant with no bodyguard or security, but he wanted to have a party to announce your engagement to his daughter” He leaned back in his chair, steeling his fingers as he gazed out the window at the city skyline. The streets below were alive with activity, but in his office, the air was thick with tension. "He's got balls, I'll give him that," he said, his voice low and even. "Both him and his daughter, trying to play me like a fool. They think they can just waltz in here and start making demands?" He turned to Bruno, his loyal consignee, who was standing by the door. His eyes were fixed on me, his expression a mask of calm. "Send him a message," he instructed, he voice dripping with malice. "A blank envelope with the Black Hand symbol on it. Make it clear that he's crossed a line." Bruno's eyes flickered with understanding, and he nodded curtly. "You don't mean...?" he started to ask, his voice hesitant. He nodded, my expression cold. "Yes, I do. He's been warned. Just because I agreed to meet with his daughter doesn't mean I'm going to let him think he can control me. He's about to find out what it means to cross a De Luca." Bruno's face was impassive, but I could sense a flicker of unease behind his eyes. He knew what the Black Hand symbol meant – a death sentence. "As you wish, Boss," he said finally, his voice firm. "But are you sure this is wise? We don't know what kind of connections he has." I waved my hand dismissively. "I don't care about his connections. What I care about is respect. And he's shown none." Bruno bowed slightly, his expression grim. "I'll take care of it, Don," he said, before turning and walking out of the office. He watched him go, his mind already turning to the next step. It seems I've been too lenient with the people who cross me, just because I took over at a young age, they think they can make me a puppet, well this puppet is about to pull some strings. Today was her day off, her mother doesn't open the shop on Sundays, usually they would go on a picnic or just have a cooking marathon together but the week had been really busy and they were both exhausted, she had planned on going to her favorite book store and spend the day there, also carrying the glitter she promised to make for Perry, Perry was a little girl who loves close to the book store with her mother, she would always read to her when she came, her mother owned tge shop, she was really excited to see Perry, she was such a sweet and cute child, she was so full of life and energy She had wore her favorite dress today and a summer hat, the dress always made her feel beautiful, because it hugs her curves in the right place, she took some cookies from the kitchen and held the glitter bottle in her hand, she didn't want it to break so she decided to hold on to it till she gets to the shop since it wasn't too far from home, the weather was getting colder, seems like it's going to rain heavily and she couldn't help but feel even happier, the perfect weather for the perfect book, she hurried her steps to get to the shop quicker, just as she turned around the corner to an alleyway, she bumped into someone and she lost her grip on the glitter and it fell and cracked open, which made the glitter splash in different directions,g both her and the stranger, she teared up immediately and looked up at the monster who broke her gift She glared at the man standing before her, her eyes blazing with a mix of shock, anger, and frustration. "What is it with you and ruining my day?!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the air. She couldn't believe it was him - the same man who had almost destroyed her beloved bike, her baby, in a reckless accident. The memory of that day still simmered in her mind, and she had barely begun to forgive him for the damage he had caused. And yet, here he was again, standing in front of her with an air of nonchalance, as if he hadn't almost wrecked her prized possession. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she recalled the weird sensations he had stirred within her the last time they met. It was as if he had awakened a part of her that she couldn't understand or control. Now, as she looked into his eyes, she felt that same spark reignite, sending a flutter through her chest. She was torn between her desire to yell at him and her curiosity about what he wanted from her. But one thing was certain - she wouldn't let him get away with ruining her day again. Alex stood still as he watch this little creature scream at him, the glitter on her face made her look incredibly cute, he wanted to reach out and touch her cheek, they looked so soft and puffy, he was on the phone with Bruno before he bumped into this woman again, he had a business to deal with nearby and decided to take a walk seeing the weather was becoming cloudy and cold, his favorite day, he got a called from Bruno that someone was following him, trying to throw the person off balance by increasing his steps and entering different alleys, when he turned on a corner he bumped into the angry bird again, could this day get any worse? As she continued to scream, he quickly realized that her loud voice would only serve to reveal his location to his stalker. Quickly, he swiftly moved deeper into the corner, pinning the girl against the wall. He pressed his finger firmly against her lips, signaling for her to be quiet. "Shh" he whispered urgently, his eyes darting back towards the alley he had come from. He strained to see if his stalker was still following him, but it seemed he had managed to shake them off. Feeling a mix of relief and disappointment, he turned his attention back to the girl in his arms. That's when he froze. She was gazing up at him with the most captivating eyes he had ever seen. Her eyes were a deep, rich brown that seemed to hold a world of emotion. They sparkled with unshed tears, and he could sense her vulnerability. His finger, still pressed against her lips, seemed to burn with awareness. Her lips were incredibly soft and smooth beneath his touch. For a moment, they simply stared at each other, the tension between them palpable. The girl's eyes never left his, and he felt like he was drowning in their depths. He couldn't help but wonder who this mysterious girl was, and why he felt such an intense connection to her. As he gazed into her eyes, he noticed the faintest glimmer of fear. It was a look he knew all too well, a look that spoke of vulnerability and uncertainty. It was a look that made him want to protect her, to keep her safe from harm. But he knew he couldn't. He had his own demons to deal with, his own stalker to evade. Despite the danger that lurked in every shadow, he couldn't help but feel drawn to this girl. There was something about her that seemed to calm the stormy waters of his mind. Something that made him feel like he could breathe again.
