A week passed and Alfonso started to pull off his game again. He kept texting me every morning and night telling about his plans for the whole day and how his day went. I never replied to his messages, but he kept sending me nonsense as if I care.
Last Wednesday, his car was parked right beside mine in building's parking lot. That was enough to shake my confidence, so I ask for my driver to pick me up from work since that day. There is also a possibility that Alfonso has a meeting in that building, but this coincidence is not convincing. He can plot everything in his favor.
Even I don't reply to his messages, I still read them right after I receive it not because I am curious about his life, but because I will delete it right away. Those messages have no space in my phone at all.
When the weekend comes, Sceeya called telling me that she's going with Zey and Heirra in the company outing. She has a week long to inform me about that, but she called on the day of the event. There is no extra room for them, and my room is just for one. We can just have our own vacation, but they still insisted.
"Eros won't be with us. Are you sure you're still going with us?" I asked one last time.
"He's in Singapore, I know. I tole him last Tuesday that I will go with you, but he must have forgotten to tell you. For sure there will be extra room there! No need to worry, Yllana." But I will not be able to entertain them because I have to work. That concerns me more than anything.
The past few days were hectic. The first project that I handled was proposed to the board and got rejected by Eros himself. That was degrading, but I didn't have enough time to complain and be down because the deadline got us working overnight. I don't feel so good today.
"Alright then. How do you plan to go there? Don't tell me you will go with us in the bus?" I will never approve of that. They will only cause a scene and awkward situations inside, and it's me who has to face the consequences.
"Heirra's going to bring her car." Good thing.
"I'm going with you. I miss you bitches," I said.
"W-what? No way! You are already in your office, right? That tower is not along our way, Yllana. Don't trouble us." They made my jaw drop. How dare them. After I grant them a favor, they will refuse to give me a ride?
"Yeah! That's also a team building, so it's best if you spend some quality time with your team. We'll see you there!" They sound more excited than I am. I just want to get this done.
Bryan greeted me with a wide smile when I arrived at the loading station of the company. He has a big backpack beside him, and his eyes narrowed when he looked at my two sports bags with me. I was contemplating a while ago whether to bring a small luggage or these two sports bag.
"Where are the others?" I can't see my team here.
"Some are in the CR, some went to buy snacks and some are not yet here." I nodded. His eyes scanned my things again as if he's asking for explanations. I glared at him because even we are friends, I am still his boss. He's lucky enough to join us in this outing when he's just an intern.
"How many days are you planning to stay there?" I rolled my eyes.
"It's better to be prepared than sorry." Because I can't decide for matching outfits this morning, I took so many clothes. There's no harm in bringing those all.
"Good for you. Are you sure you can ride in the bus? Won't you feel dizzy?" I gave him a despised look. What does he think of me? Stallion University uses bus for field trip, outreach and other activities outside school.
"Stop talking to me, Bryan. You are ruinning my morning with your questions and that damn tone." I put on my headset but he removed it. He's brave to do that because he's Mr. Kier Luna's son. Even he acts all mighty and bossy in our department, he won't get fired because his father is Eros's right hand.
The side of his lips moved up like he's having fun mocking me. I am not the only one with two bags there. Some employees around have bags as big as mine. Bry is the only one who's making a big deal out of it.
"Did you have breakfast already?" My jaw dropped. That is not something an intern should ask to his superior. My brows raised before I faced him with serious expression.
"I am your boss, Bryan. You can treat me however you want outside the company and when it is not working hour, but whenever we are inside the company, try showing me some respect." He smiled more. He was not like this a week ago. Maybe I should hang out with him less especially during lunch. I have been telling him a lot about me that's why he's acting this way to me. I can't help it, he's so comfortable to be with.
"Noted, boss. But have you eaten? Can you accompany me buy food?" He did not understand what I wanted to say.
"You can't ask your superior questions like that. One more time you talk to me that way and I will make sure that your behavior reflects in your evaluation. Don't forget that I will be the one to sign it." He nodded like he knows everything that I am saying.
"Yes, boss. Then I will just go buy something. Do you want anything...? Boss?"
"Call me Ms. Westly. Try to add more sarcasm and I am throwing you to another department." I answered quietly because we are already drawing attention to his colleagues. He gritted his teethjokingly before he walked away. A spoiled brat like him should be disciplined. If not, he will grow up arrogant.
When he went back, he's carrying a bag of chips and drinks which he claimed to be ours. I want to accept his treat, but I limit myself from taking chips. Around 7:30 when we left the company and everyone is noisy inside the bus. Loud music is coming from the back because the driver complains it's too loud if the speaker is in front.
Bryan is sitting beside me while listening to some music and playing mobile games.
I put on my sunglasses and slept. My classic love song playlist is making my hand and feet dance in small movements. Even I want to watch the view outside, my eyes chose to just sleep because I am so tired from the past hell week. I guess money is really hard to earn.
Three buses parked in the garage consecutively. I am carefully observing the whole place, and something feels off. I tried to scratch away that feeling because I don't want to attract negativity while we are having fun. Bryan hepled me carry my things until we are inside the house.
"Thank you so much, Bryan! See you later!" I said with full of energy. He just waved at me and went to the elevator with some employees. He might want to rest a little.
The girls are already in the private resort when our bus arrived and the staffs already attended to their need in room and get the suite for Eros. They would have left that vacant in case Eros comes, but it's sure that Eros will not be around for the whole duration of outing because he's in Singapore.
"Let's have lunch first!" Heirra said when everybody seems to head in the elevator. We want to go to our room first, and there's also no scheduled event this morning except the private time with your team and friends and also the morning snacks.
"We can have that later. I will just bring my things to my room." For sure, they also have lots of clothes with them. They remained silent after that while I focused my eyes in the elevator that's why when it opened, my jaw dropped in surprise.
"What are you doing here?" Despite my determination to remain composed in front of Alfonso, my voice just won't cooperate when it cracked for that question. His appearance created a havoc in my system. I didn't expect him to be here.
"Eros assigned me to watch over, for Mr. Kier has an urgent meeting to attend. You are not supposed to question your superior like that." His brow raised as his eyes went down to my body. That made my face flushed.
"I thought I saw Mr. Kier's car in the loading station a while ago, but anyway, good luck to your job here." He moved out of the elevator, but his eyes remained at me. My friends were murmuring something that I can't hear while we are walking inside the elevator.
"Are you all going to sleep in the suite?" He asked.
"There are only 3 beds, and no one wants to share. Unless you would want to share your room with her then I guess she has to spend the night in an ordinary room with no aircon." I glared at Sceeya.
"That's right. Are you willing to share your room with her, Alfonso?" Zey added, so I pinched her arm and she tilted her arm in pain. Serves her right.
The corner of Alfonso's lips moved up as if he's stopping a smile to flash.
"There's only one bed in my room, but if she wants.."
"Damn you! You are not supposed to answer seriously a joke." Before he continued whatever perverted things he's about to say, I cut him off.
"If you want to exchange rooms then that's completely fine with me, Yllana. I have been thinking that you might not be able to sleep without aircon." He answered seriously. Heirra cleared her throat when I can't find any word to match his answer. Damn him for leaving me speechless. I hate him so bad.
"Nice to see you here, Alfonso. Have a great time!" Heirra exclaimed before the door closed. I glared at her after that. After what Alfonso did, he remained a good friend to my bestfriends and even that is displeasing, I have nothing to do, but to allow that.
