Chapter 5

We went inside my room and the first thing that I saw was the glass window where palm trees are overlooking. It would have been nicer if we are in the sea, but this is good enough to spend our weekend. I put my bags in the cabinet and didn't bother to arrange my things in there. This will be just 2 short days. Sceeya and Zey went out to the veranda, maybe to get fresh air while Heirra threw herself on the bed. The interior design is a combination of urban modern and mid-century modern. More than anything, I love that the shower has heater. Even it's summer, I feel cold in the morning. "How's our engaged friend? You seemed so busy these past few months. Are the preparations going well?" I laid beside her, but her eyes stayed on the screen of her phone. She's hard to see especially now that she also started working as business analyst in their main branch. "Deeply in love, but tired. There is something missing, Yllana. My heart is about to explode from so much happiness, but at the end of the day when I am already laying on my bed, I feel hollow like everything is just...customary. We are doing everything that our parents are telling us, and we don't know anymore if we are really having fun doing it. We never talked seriously since we graduated." She let out a deep sigh as she put down her phone, and stared in the ceiling. "Our Ethics Professor said we should not give comments on things we don't understand or we haven't experienced, but you are my friend, so I will try to make you feel better. Try to run away even just for a week. Spend some time with Joven in a place you have never visited before. Talk and decide without thinking about anyone because that marriage will be about you in the future. People are helping you in the preparations, but it's gonna be the two of you after," I said. "Good point. Thank you, Yllana." She moved nearer to me and gave me a hug even we are still laying down. We were in that position when someone knocked. Heirra immediately got up to open the door. Whoever that is, I ought to kill him for disturbing. This is a good chance to talk to her heart to heart. "Yllana, Bryan is here!" She shouted and I felt the need to get up too and face him. Heirra was smiling wide when I walked to her direction. That nasty look in her face is making me cringe. Can't she see that the guy standing in front of us is younger and definitely not my type. "Yes, Bryan? What do you need?" "I am in Room 405. If you need any help, just call me or go there." His eyes landed on Heirra before he finished his sentence. That made my eyes narrowed. He seems interested in her. I cleared my throat to get his attention again, but when he looked at me again, he's wearing a playful smile. "Won't you introduce me to your friend?" I glared at him, but that doesn't seem to matter to him. "Heirra, Yllana's friend." She offered her hand casually. "Nice to meet you. Bryan, an intern in Yllana's department," he said and gripped my friend's hand. "She's engaged. We'll see you in the dining area for lunch." I gave him an intent look as a warning. It would be nicer if he's dad is here, so he will be tamed. It's a disaster that Alfonso is here in place of his dad. "I'll see you then." He looked at Heirra and waved before he walked away. I immediately closed the door after he turned his back. We enjoyed some quality time in the room before we head out to have lunch. They are definitely slaying in their bikini attires. "Your employees will lose their sane when they see what their boss is wearing." I keep it simple but stunning. I chose a red bikini under net beach dress and crescent beach sun hat. In my right hand is sunglasses. They are already having lunch when we arrived. Overwhelemed consumed the girls as gazes showered upon us. We walked inside the dining area and looked for a vacant table. Only one person made me stop from taking any walk farther. "I thought you won't come down for lunch," Alfonso said arrogantly while his eyes landed on what I am wearing. He grinned and switched to Sceeya. "Let's look for another table," I murmured to Zey who stopped in front of me. Instead of doing what I said, she gladly took a seat beside Alfonso. Sceeya and Heirra followed and before I knew it, there's only 1 vacant seat in that table and that is beside the devil. "Sit." I rolled my eyes when he commanded that. He made it sound like I am a dog. Nevertheless, I sat beside him, but I pulled the chair closer to Sceeya. His scent is all over the place again. When we started eating, I felt his eyes on me, and that made me more tense. We are just eating, but my body feels hot for an unknown reason. Sceeya starts interviewing Alfonso, but I hinted something. Alfonso gave them a ride going here according to what he said. Some eyes lingered on him and that made me uncomfortable too. Of all people, why would Eros assigned him to look after his employees? He also knew that Alfonso is a busy person. He's one of the major shareholders, and he doesn't deserve to be here looking after us. "What exactly is your purpose here?" I asked silently when I reached for a glass of water. The girls are busy chatting about Bryan who won't stop looking at Heirra even after I said a while ago that she's already engaged. "I was sent by Eros to look after his girlfriend. A great privilege from him indeed." He reached for his glass too. He talked casually not caring if my friends hear him. "Then stick to your business. Stop looking at me because that made me uncomfortable," I said with all honesty. Eros is kind of obsessive to have someone as high as Alfonso look after his girl. Does he trust this guy so much? "Since I am already here, I might as well do whatever I want. This costs so much of my time." He moved his chair to face me. My jaw dropped when he pulled my chair to face him too. My heart palpitated in so much shock. "What are you doing, Alfonso?!" I looked around the table and my friends were acting ignorant of what is happening between us. Damn! "What did you do with Liam after you let him stayed in your condo late? I respected you back when you were still mine, but now you just let some other guys take advantage of you?" His voice was so hoarse as if he just woke up. I looked directly in his eyes while trying to remove any stain of pain in my eyes. He doesn't need to see what I feel because he will just crush me more. This man infront of me is a very dangerous man. I cannot allow his words get into me again. Not ever again. "That is not for you to know." He chuckled before he pulled my chair more. I was catching my breath when he continued. "So did he f**k you?" My jaw dropped. This rude bastard puts no limit in his insolence. "So what if he did? You have no right to question the intimacy that I am having with my man. I am happier now than the time I was with you. I hope that answers your offensive question." "Your man? Who? Liam?" He gave a sarcastic laugh and even looked at his back like he was really annoyed. His jaw clenched when he faced me again. My eyes went down to his nose and lips because those eyes are fiery enough to burn all the remaining confidence in my shaking body. "That professor is your man, Yllana? Are you kidding me? I can shoot him in the head right in front of you. He's so f*****g lame!" It was almost a whisper using a very dangerous tone. I took a deep sigh when I felt a thousand volts that steered my system from the touching of our knees. "I don't care of he's lame, Alfonso. My heart wants him regardless of how he is as a person. Stop this bulshit if you don't want Eros to kill you once the rumor about us starts to roam in the company." We are too close to each other, but his eyes say he's ready for hell. He already raised it. "So Liam has been f*****g you. That neighbor of you, Yllana, warn him because I might kill him one of these days if he..." I didn't let him finish. "Stop talking about killing, Alfonso. You have your women to satisfy you in bed too, so don't act as if you're still after me. Don't give me hope because I won't fall for it anymore. Are you really that shameless of a devil to be doing this to me afterall?" There had a silence in our table and I know, by that time, that my friends are paying attention to our argument. I don't want to make it look like one of those days three years ago, so I initiated an end by standing. His eyes followed. "The day you come back to me, I will punish you severely that you won't be able to fantasize any other man!" He stood too, and that made me look up to him. The show has given the audience so much to talk about, but I guess he isn't done shaming us both. "I hope you stop, Alfonso." That's all that came out from my mouth. "I will not," he answered giving emphasis to every word. "Should I also get married? Will you stop chasing me around if there's a loaw that ties me to another person?" "Then get married to anybody who can marry you." He gave a sardonic laugh. "No one even wants to date you." That hit me hard. He was actually right. No man was brave enough to pursue me. How did he know? "You will come back. I will make you lust me, Yllana. If it's not love, at least lust will do. I will do by hook or by crook, so I hope you don't let your guards down." He faced the girls as if everything was fine. "I will go ahead, Scee, Heirra and Zey. See you around." He scrutinize my body again before moving his last piece of the argument. "Don't wear too revealing clothes. You will feed my eyes," he said as he fixed my dress that loosen from my shoulder. That was full of sarcasm, but my face is all red. There is nothing to be ashamed in my body, but now that he mentioned it, I felt naked. His words were enough to shake me, seriously.
