And yet, Henry knew the answer to Clarence’s question about Theo’s preferences better than Theo’s own brother.
He was going to marry Theo. He had Theo. And Clarence was completely in the dark concerning so much of Theo’s life, while Henry had already been allowed into so many corners of Theo’s heart.
And this was Clarence trying to mend the relationship with his younger brother. Or rather, trying to start one. An attempt at building a bridge so that they no longer had to remain on either side of the river separating them, and could, instead, meet in the middle.
That mattered. It mattered the same way Henry’s relationship with his own siblings mattered. It was awkward, and it’d be full of learning, but he thought Clarence did mean to try.
