Shelves and long tables and literary quiet welcomed him, as they did all seekers after knowledge. Henry did not have the time to appreciate their refuge.

Would Theo be in the small head librarian’s office? Or down in the vaults? With proscribed texts, seductive volumes, dangerous ledgers?
