Chapter 6Back at home. Theo’s tower. Their tower. Henry wanted it to be home, felt as if it could be, and was afraid it couldn’t stay that way. The rain came and went, unsure of its welcome. Theo had agreed to sit down, though not to lie down, and Henry’d brought him a blanket and then made a fire in the small fireplace, by hand. The heat, the glow, offered warmth and color. He was afraid it wasn’t enough. He was afraid he wasn’t— He sat down beside Theo, on the small supportive sofa. He took Theo’s hand, simply to touch, to feel him there. The fire crackled with encouragement. “A supper-party. With your brother.” “Not only him. His friends.
