My mobile phone

He is around 6 feet tall with a very fine grey suit, well-polished shoes and a very expensive watch. His all appearance is screaming money He is so handsome that I forgot myself for a second. Mum stops me amid my imaginations. "What is it worth smiling about, when you no longer have got a phone? It's more of a statement than a quiz. " I.... am.. I " I fumble hard to find words but I am stopped midway by the Godlike man," I am sorry Ma. It's all my fault. I was so disrupted and bumped into her." said the man. "Well, good for you young man, because now my daughter doesn't have a phone". Mum said angrily " I am really sorry. I promise to replace it. Kindly give me your home address and I will deliver the same make and model first thing tomorrow morning". Promised the man. My heart is dancing at the hearing of such words. I have never seen such a handsome human being before.I have always seen young men in my neighborhood very musculine and handsome, but nothing compared to this angelic man. He had a well shaved mustache, a divine jaw line and a broad chest. I could easily lie on it. "keep talking" I joined the conversation but stopped when I saw my Mom's Leopard eyes on me. "so you think you can go wrecking other people's phones because you can replace them. Stupid generation." mum tells him and coughs the last part so that it doesn't come out clearly. I turned to Mum, and looking at her I wondered why she was angry. The man was apologetic and was even willing to replace the damn phone. What was all that about it? "No Ma. I promise it was an accident. The godlike man defended himself. She then turns back to the cashier and asks for a pen and a piece of paper and wrote down our address before handing the note to the stranger. " Try and lie to me and get away with it. My husband is in the forces and he will track you down and you'll pay heavily." She says while handing him the note. The godlike man folds the note perfectly and puts it in his pants pockets with a tiny smile on his perfect lips. He thinks Mum is a joke for thinking he could get away. Then he extended his hand to her," I am Tony. Nice to meet you" This gets Mum by surprise and she doesn't believe it. She clicks so loudly and turns back to the cashier. "The guts." she muttered as she walked away. Tony's hand hangs in there for a whole ten seconds before he pockets them both. He gave me a wink before turning back and disappearing inside the large store. Moments later, I was still lost in thought, when Mum signalled me to follow her and the store assistant who was already in the parking lot and loading our stuff into our car's trunk. ********* "I am telling you T, make it your business to stay away from such guys, especially when you go to college. You know I won't be there to protect you from such prey-hunting men. They are always after young girls like you. Using their little money to lure them. Do you understand?". I nodded, even though, deep inside, something told me Tony wasn't of such a kind. He seemed genuine and I fought hard the urge to stand up for him. But I wouldn't dare, or I would be slapped into kingdom come. ********* Later that evening, Sasha and I were meeting for a little gossip before my big day. I needed to hear a bit more about that college life before it actually dawned on me. Since she was grounded, I had to go to her place. I ring their door bell and she takes ages to open the door. I went in my pocket to fish for my phone to call her, but realized I didn't have one. "What took you so long". I asked when she finally showed up at the door. "Can't I get laid in peace?". She replied jokingly. "You wish". I told her as I made my way inside to her bedroom. "I have been trying to call you. Where is your phone? "I ..........mmh......" I was gonna reply but my attention was diverted. On her bed are several Pulse Papers lying around. Talk about studying. "I see you getting ready, young girl, really well for school. I should snitch on you. Don't you think?" I told her. She laughs out loud and picks one of the papers and puts it on my face. "Got a new crush. Look." she said I took the paper and studied the cover photo. The man featured is so familiar and I couldn't fathom where I saw him. I read the name on top; Anthony Banner, journalist of the year. It now made sense. This was indeed Tony from the morning. He stood there in the picture looking all Godly and I felt a twitch in my stomach. I turned to Sasha and she was studying me keenly. You are yet to be a journalist and you don't know this. Don't you watch the news? He was awarded the best journalist of the year, he also got an aircraft business and is f*****g rich. Maybe you should drop the journalism ambition and study butt office or something." She said and burst into laughter while googling Anthony Banner on her laptop. A lot of photos of him were displayed on the screen. However, she was shocked when I didn't react to her joke. "I know that look on your face. Spit it out." " Remember how you were asking about my phone? Well, he crushed it." I told her, pointing to Tony's photo and ignoring her attempt of humor. "What?" she was horrified. "This morning while at the store with Mum, he bumped into me.I had my phone loosely in my hand and it crashed to the ground. He said he'd replace it anyway, "I explained. Sasha is boiling with anxiety. "Is that all? like you've met him. Do you know how handsome he is? Oh God he's gonna marry you and you will have really cute kids together." "You cant possibly think that he would want to marry someone like me. Besides, it was just an accident. And who knows, he could already be married." I said, not really believing in my words. We chat with Sasha into the night. Talking about him(Tonny), men in general, and college life until it was time to go home. ********* On Sunday morning I am doing dishes, singing at the top of my voice when the door bell rings. I rush to answer it and once again I am rooted. Tony was standing sharply at the door in a fine suit and screaming handsomely. "Hi" He smiled widely and I couldn't help but blush cheekily. "Please come in."My voice came out unintentionally, squicky. I led him to the couch and sat beside him at some reasonable distance. I could find a word and just stare at him. He sensed my uneasiness and handed me the shopping bag he was carrying. "You could have just had it delivered." I finally found my voice. His lips widened into a smile and he said, "Honestly, I wanted to see you". My mind went back to blank and my eyes popped out of their sockets. For a second, I thought I was hallucinating. "What" It was at this particular moment that my mum decided to show up and I was overjoyed to see her. "You are already here." She said, eying our sitting position. I moved involuntarily. "You have a lovely home." replied Mr. handsome. I took the phone out of the bag. It was the same model as the crashed one, only that it was the latest version and very expensive. I mumbled a thank you and headed upstairs. What the f**k that he wanted to see me. really? I leaned back on my bedroom door after locking it and released my breath slowly. I was near suffocation. I found my crashed phone and transferred the cards. I texted Sasha immediately. *Hey* *You got your phone back?* *Yes. guess who is here* *Mr. handsome? I am on my way* * No. my Mum is downstairs with him* *What?. isn't she at work?* *It is Sunday, silly* *Ohh yeah. I forgot* Sasha's parents are business people and rarely at home. I can't blame her. *Hey. Let's catch up later, got some errands to run.* "Sure* *make sure to kiss him* I slummed back on my bed at the thought of her suggestion. A kiss wouldn't be so bad. I pictured his cute face, his moist lips and my body went numb. I wanted to see him again and decided to go back downstairs. I knocked over the shopping bag that had the phone and a business card fell. I collected it and it was Tony's business card. I wondered how it got there. "Did he put it on purpose?" I wondered to myself. I flipped it over and the other side was handwritten; Sasha, please call me. ********** On Monday morning, Mum and I sat at the registration office. She insisted on accompanying me even after assuring her countless times that I would be fine by myself. Dad, being in the military, was always busy except for the few leaves he would get. This only left Mum to run errands concerning our family. Sometimes I felt lonely and wished I had a baby brother or sister for that matter. Then she won't be on my neck all the time, even though I know she means no harm and loves me to the core. That's how I managed to be a virgin to this far. Moments later, the registration is over. I am assigned a third year girl named Veil as my roommate. She is so sweet and spoiled,in some way. Her hair is dyed green in colour. I imagined if it was my own, my Mum would skin me alive. After escorting me to my room, Mum leaves but without warning me a million times to stay away from boys and not to get pregnant. How on earth was I to get pregnant?
