Tonny
I am over the moon as the car races down the suburbs of Tome leading to the nearby mall. I am joining college in 2 days' time, which is why my Mum is taking me shopping for a few things that I need.
I am over excited because tales about college always fantasize me, especially from Sasha, my best buddy who is in his second year.
Sasha, unlike me, is very talkative. She has been my best friend ever since we were kids and the only reason why she is a year ahead of me in school is because I felt sick during our 2nd year in high school.
I was diagnosed with a growth in my birth canal and had to undergo surgery and several admissions to the hospital, thus dragging my schooling.

For these reasons, I always go for checkups every three months. The doctor said I was fully healed but had to attend those check-ups for surety. Even though the doctor would always say I was fine, I was always worried that my womb wouldn't be able to sustain a pregnancy when I finally conceived.
"I will cross that bridge when I get there." I would always say to myself.

Sasha had cried a river, wanting to redo the class with me so as to be in the same class again, but her mum and us talked her out and she finally came to her senses.
"College boys are so cute and very romantic. You'll get yourself one of those with that stunning beauty of yours", I recalled one of her lessons, as she termed them.
"Penny for your thoughts" Mum shouted from the driver's seat and I realized we were parked in the mall's parking lot.
"Did you even hear a word I said" she shouted again.
"I am sorry Ma. I didn't hear you. This college thing is giving me goosebumps."
"Did you carry the shopping list?" She asks, ignoring my earlier sentiments.
I searched through my jean pockets and fished it out.
There is no way in hell I was gonna forget that.
The shopping spree was hectic. Mum was insisting I pick an extra pair of everything we picked. The worst part is the clothes that she insists should be respectful; no tights, no miniskirts.
"We are a Christian family. I don't want you getting confused once in college". She would remind me every five seconds.
After a whole 2 hours of here and there, we finally went to the cashier to make payment.
The line of people queuing up to be served was infinite .There was no way I was gonna queue for that. I am super tired so I stagger to the close available seat to take a rest while Mum does the payment.
I am about to sit, when someone bumps into me so hard, making my phone fly away and land on the tiled floor with a loud turd.
I go for it fast enough and I am truly disappointed to find the screen shuttered. My mind went chaotic when i remembered my Dad's stern look. He was gonna kill me for sure.
My Dad bought it for me as my birthday gift. And even though it was a gift, I was lectured and warned that I'd be phone less if I dare loose it or fracture it untill I could be able to buy one for myself.
That's because I had a habit of losing my mobile phone all the damn time. My anger went automatically to the careless culprit who knocked me over. How could he be so careless?
I turned around with sobs forming in my throat to see the offender, and I was rooted on the spot.
