BETROTHED TO A COLD CEO CHAPTER ONE Annabelle. "Come back here Ann!" He yelled at me almost like a roar while I halted in my tracks and turned to face his brown eyes which were now glaring darkly into my soul. "What the heck was that show for?" I swallowed looking confused and sighing exasperatedly. "I don't understand Reid." "Then you must be suffering from amnesia for not kissing me in front of the board members!!" "I…you already did that in the front of press…I thought that should be enough " "You must be out of your mind Annabelle! Was that the f*****g agreement? He's been taking this public display of affection too seriously and it irks me. "Reid, please can't we just skip this?" "No babe,not even one. You have thirty minutes." He said cockily and took his heels to the stairs leading all the way to his room. My scorching feet were burning from the heels I wore and I sat on the couch and tugged them off cursing in the process and wondering the kind of life I'm being introduced to. I dragged my feet lazily to the room and fetched a short black pleated gown with strapless hands. My face is already dolled up so I just added some mascara and lip gloss to glam it up. Reid Wilson is always known for class and perfection.He enjoys his reputation and cocky is his middle name,no time for argument when mistakes are done,no time chit chats or any clumsiness. His eyes skims all over my body and he comes closer,his pupils become darkened as his eyes travel to my exposed shoulders down to my cleavage. I swear I could hear a sigh escape his lips and he gave that habitual bite on his lips. "We'll be late." He said and shook his head as If he was snapped in his reverie before taking my hands and guiding me out to the black Audi waiting outside the mansion. It was a business party with powerful men and women from all over. Their attire and aura alone screams wealth and I was really putting on a good show by smiling and kissing my husband. I almost rolled my eyes when he kissed me back and a couple commented how adorable we looked. Adorable indeed. He releases my hands to talk to a business partner and I use the opportunity to get a drink. I walked to the bartender and he winked at me. "Double Scotch." I tell him and I glance at Reid whose smile was contagious as he exchanged pleasantries with some dignity. He will totally get mad at me for taking a drink but that's the least of my worries right now. My life has been nothing but a sweet hell hole and I could use any opportunity to forget it for a moment. The cute guy passed it to me and I gulped it,wincing at the burns in my throat and closing my eyes to savor the scorching feeling. I asked for two more and I gulped,my eyes watered and reeled before me as I stood up almost staggering. I needed to find Reid before he went berserk and looked for me. booom!! I don't know what happened next but I'm sure something bad happened. I collided into a waiter holding a tray of wine and every damn thing splashed on a glaring young lady,what followed was the sounds of crashing glasses which danced scatteredly to the floor and all attention turned to face me. Great. "Bitchhhh!!!" She yelled and I rolled my eyes cause I knew that voice very well even in my dream. I just wonder why I just get to bump into her on every occasion. "It was clearly a mistake,you shouldn't call her that." A sweet guy dressed in a brown tux comes to my defense and I swoon. "Sorry Ariana."I murmured but knowing her she would never accept that. "You drunk imbecile,how will that erase any of this?" "Then go screw yourself." I was already tired of her useless rants, always a super model of attention and curses. I scanned my eyes around the room but couldn't find Reid. All of a sudden Ariana moved to me in a flash to hit me when this random guy held me at once and and faced his back on her to prevent her lashing. His hands were securely wrapped around my waist and I held him tight in that same proximity not to lose balance because I didn't see that at all. I felt something boring hole into my body as I raised my head to stare at Harrison's sharp eyes on my savior. Without warning he hastened his steps towards us and a punch flew to the innocent dude making me gasp in total disbelief.
