Lizzy pulled up in front of Cat’s house and turned off the car. She unbuckled Mikey’s car seat while Sam jumped out and ran for the front door. By the time Lizzy got there she heard the girls’ voices in the kitchen and followed with Mikey and the diaper bag.
“Hi Lizzy,” Cat said reaching out for Mikey. He went to her enthusiastically. She kissed his neck and he giggled, gripping her hair. “What do you have planned for tonight?”
“You don’t know?” Lizzy asked.
“No, why? Didn’t Aaron tell you where you’re going?”
“No. All our dates he likes to surprise me. He doesn’t tell me but Jenny has always known. I figured since you were watching the kids he would have told you.”
“I guess he knows I would end up telling you.”
“Darn. I was hoping to get it out of you.”
