Lady of the house

The night was busy. I was behind the counter at the nightclub, Chavas. People were coming up left and right to order drinks. Kevin and I were the only bartenders on until 11 tonight. We normally don't get this busy until about then, though tonight we had a party that the club was hosting for the owner to celebrate him finding his mate. Who am I, you ask? I'm Andrea Mayz. I'm 19. I'm a leopard shifter. I have long brown curly hair with sun-kissed skin and stand 5'10". I have curves in all the right places. I've been working at Chavas for about a month now. The club owner is Adam Micheal. He is my best friends mate. He stood 6'5" and had short, curly, dirty blond hair. He had six pack abs and a straight jaw line that was to die for. His mate and my best friend are Emily Davids. She is a drop-dead gorgeous blond with a body of a super model standing at 6 ft. They are both lion shifters. When 11pm came along, 4 other bar tenders came in, and I was allowed to join the party. "Hey girl. I'm finally off the clock. Party time." I scream at my friend as I walk up to her. "Hey girl." She screams right back. Adam looks at us, shaking his head. "Hey, my brother is coming tonight. Can you believe it?" I looked at her with a shocked look on my face. Mr. CEO himself, Devon Davids. The only way to describe him is as hot as sin, with his chiseled jaw and his well-built muscles, standing at 6'9". His hair is the color of honey. I'm only going off of photos since he has been away for the last couple of years handling his hotel business. Emily and I go out on the dance floor to dance with each other while we wait for her mate to come out of the office because he had to take a call. We are on our second song when I get hit with the most intoxicating scent. Honey with a splash of ginseng. I turn to the door to see none other, then Emily's brother and the scent is coming from him. Abby, my leopard purrs in my ear. "Mate." My face drops. The only thought that goes through my mind is that this can't be happening. He can't be my mate, can he? " He is our mate. What's wrong with that? " Abby asks. "Abby, he is a lion shifter. How can we be mates?" My inner battle with Abby is interrupted by arms snaking around my body. He flips me around to face him. "Hello, mate. What is your name?" Devon asks. "Omg, you're my brothers mate, Andrea, but how?" Emily squeals beside us. "OH, so you are the famous Andrea that I heard about from Emily. I'm Devon, her brother." He says, introducing himself in his deep sexy voice. My body is tingling where his hands rub my back. He pulls me closer so my face is buried in his chest since he is almost a foot taller than me, and my head doesn't come up to his chin even. "How is this possible? I'm not a lion shifter. Is this even possible?" I ask out loud. "I have never heard of people having a mate outside their own kind, have you?" " I have not heard of it, but I don't care. You are mine, and I'm not giving you up. The goddess gave me you, and if you think I'm giving you up because you aren't a lion shifter, you got another one coming." His voice has me melting more into his arms since he still hasn't let me go since he wrapped his arms around me. "Omg girl, I am so happy for you." Emily squeals. " You better treat her right, or I will sick Adam on you." He lets me go and walks over to his sister and gives her a hug. "Hey, sis, congratulations. I will never hurt her, and I will never leave her. " Wow, my thoughts are everywhere. He says that he doesn't care that I'm a leopard shifter and not a lion one. Can I be with him? Is it really possible? Abby speaks up. " He is our mate. If we weren't meant to be together, then the goddess wouldn't have paired us. Don't you even think of rejecting him." She growls in my head. "I'm not wealthy. I have no recollection of who my parents are. I was found on the side of the road by humans. He wouldn't want to be with me once he finds out." I argue back. "He said he would never leave, and I believe him." She says. "Whats on your mind, princess?" He asks as he wraps his arms around me again and pulls me into his embrace. Just as I was about to answer him, his friend came out and walked up onto the stage. He taps the mic to get everyone's attention. "Hello everyone, thank you for coming to join my mate Emily and I in celebrating our joining. Emily, will you come up here with me?" He asks her. She leaves the dance floor and climbs onto the stage. Adam looks like a love sick puppy as he watches Emily climb the steps to the stage. When she approaches him, he gets down on one knee."This wonderful woman has made me the happiest man in the world these last few weeks. Emily Davids, will you marry me and be my mate until death do us part?" Emily eyes tear up as she looks down at him. Her face lights up. "Omg yes.... yes." The crowd cheers, and Adam stands up and wraps his arms around her and plants a sweet kiss on her lips. "Please enjoy the free food and drinks on me tonight and dance the night away." Adam says. He escorts Emily back off the stage and walks towards us. "Hello again, Andrea. Who might this gentleman be?" "Hello, my name is Devon Davids, your mates brother and Andrea's mate." Devon says and extends his hand to shake Adam's.
