"Okay! I will help you to save the world. We will try our best to look for the cure in this problem." said the old man.
When I look to Mattheo, he looks so tired.
"So, when we will start to look for the cure?" asked, Mattheo.
"After we take a rest. Maybe we can rest here even in just a few hours." I explained.
"But we don't have time to rest, Collin. Our family, our friends, and the rest of the world are in danger. We don't know what will happen if we choose to rest rather than to look for the cure." He said while looking at me.
He's right. In this case, we don't have the right to rest.
I'm just thinking about our health. I know it's not important now because most of the people already died and they are destroying the world.
" You can rest here. But I feel sorry because I don't have any other things to give. Only this." He said while pointing his fingers in the blanket at the top of the root of the tree.
I saw Mattheo lay his head on the side of the tree and hold it with his hands, for support. He realized that I am looking at him so he looks at me too.
"Why are you staring at me, like that? Any wrong in my face?" he said while looking at me.
"I know I'm handsome, but please don't look at me like that." He added.
He's smiling. Ugh! My heart. I think I'm starting to like him.
I hit his arms.
"Ouch!" He said while rubbing his arms.
"It really hurts! Why did you do that, Collin!" he added.
I raised my eyebrows to her.
"I'm already done dealing in that attitude, Collin. So stop doing that. It's not working anymore." He said while laughing confidently.
I heard the old man cough.
"Excuse me. I will leave you for a while. I will go back tomorrow morning, or before the sun, shines. So we can start planning." He said.
"I will give you space to spend time together." he added.
He smiled. A smile that I know he's teasing me and Mattheo.
I tangled my head and laugh.
"No, Sir. He's not my boyfriend, nor husband and wife. In fact, we are both students. And we don't have something that I know you are thingking right now. We're just friends." I answered.
He laughs.
"Every lovestory started with friends!" He said.
I just laugh at him.
He smiled and waved goodbye.
"So, he's gone. We can spend time to each other now!" He said then laugh.
I look at him badly but he just laugh at me.
He tap his lap and said, you can lay here.
Now I'm laying at his lap and everytime I open my eyes, I always see her face. Her handsome face.
I just thinking, why his parents chooses to abandon him rather than to take care of him. I don't get their reason why they chooses to leave Mattheo in the adoption center.
My first impression to Mattheo is, he's a type of guy who's so silent. A guy who will always choose to be alone. In short, he looks like a loner.
My cousin introduced him to me. Samuel is also part of the basketball team.
Before, everytime I look to the boys, I always thought that sooner or later, they will hurt me. Just like everyone do.
But Mattheo is different. Everytime I'm with him, I feel that I am always secured and nobody can hurt me as long as I'm with him.
"It looks like you're thinking too deep, Collin. I warned you. Beware! I can't save you from drowning in overflowing stuffs in your mind." He said while he's looking at me.
"I thought you are already sleeping." I said.
"Yeah! I was about to sleep but I see your shadow and once I open my eyes, I saw you are looking at me." He said.
I take a deep sigh.
I said stop looking at me like that." he added.
" I can't sleep! So, I'm trying to focus on you and try if I will get sleep." I said.
I heard his deep sigh.
"Ahm, Collin!" He said.
He's looking at me.
"May I ask you something?" he aded.
"What is it? You can ask me everything except money. I don't have money for now." I said.
No! Not like that!" He said.
" Sorry. Hmm, What is it?" I asked.
"Ahm, about Samantha and Austine!" He said.
"Oh! What's wrong with them?" I asked.
"I just noticed that you are avoiding each other. Especially you and Samantha. I know I'm not in the position to ask this but, are you one of Austine's chixx? Because when I look to Austine, I just feel that there's something with him. Did you rejected him? Or worst, are you a third party? Oh come on, Collin! Don't settle yourself in that kind of situation. There's a lot of boys out there so don't choose the one who is already taken." He said.
I just laugh at him.
" Even Samantha. When she looks at you. I feel that she wants to punch your face, or slap your cheeks, and sometimes, I feel that he wants to kill you." He added.
I smirk.
"Do you really want an answer to your curiosity?" I said and I smirk.
"I didn't rejected him nor I did not his number two or more. It's not like that. Only Samuel, Samantha, and especially Austine knows it. Even our friends don't know it. We just keeping it as a secret for about a year." I said.
I am looking at him and he's looking at me too.
"May I know that secret? I promise, I will not tell anyone about it!" He said.
I take a deep sigh.
"He's my exx boyfriend." I said.
I saw Mattheo looked so shock.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah! I'm just shock. All this time, I thought you and Austine is having a secret affair but I was wrong!" he said.
"But why did you choose to join in our trip even if you're still have an unfinished business to each other?" He said.
I laugh at him.
"Why are you laughing?" he added.
"We are already finished. But he is the one who is still pushing himself to me." I said while looking at him.
"Okay! So I think I deserve to know the truth since you already told me about that so, I think I need a continuation." He said.
I smirk.
"We're been apart just a year ago." I said.
"But, Wait! Samantha said that, they are about to celebrate their first anniversary. So why is that happen?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"Will you please let me finish the story? Or else I will not tell you about it." I said while looking at him badly.
He raised his two arms.
"Okay, I'm sorry. You can continue it now. I will just listen. I promised!" He said then he leaves me a smile.
"Austine and I are together for about one year and few months. We just break up and set apart from each other because of one reason." I said.
I talk a deep sigh.
"He cheated on me. I am one of the student's council. Everyone knows me. I am popular because of it. But then, he still cheated on me." I added.
"How did he cheat? What kind of cheating?" He asked.
It's a long story but to make it short, his other girl is younger than me and him. A totally slut like, girl. I caught him while they are dating." I answered.
Mattheo is looking at me since I tell the story.
"What a tragic love story, Collin." He said.
I just smiled at him.
"How about Samantha? Why is she treating you like that?" he asked.
I take a deep sigh.
"Maybe because, I'm the Exx girlfriend of her boyfriend and I am the one who own's Austine, first." I answered.
"I hope Austine gets what he deserve for doing it to you. If only I know it. I will not allow him to join us." He said.
"No, It's okay. I'm already done moving on from him so it doesn't matter now. But I don't know if it' s okay with Samantha." I answered with a sudden smile.
I heard his deep breathe.
"So I think, I have to sleep now! Because I know that tomorrow will going to be a long day for us." I said while looking at me.
"Goodnight!" He said then smiled at me.
I just not at him and return his smile.
And then I close my eyes and pray.
