Chapter 9-4

1258 Words

“Incoming, at the back of the house.” Sean swallowed hard when he heard Bart. At virtually the same time, Ken said, “I’ve got one over here.” “That leaves one, or possibly two more,” Mars told everyone, “so stay alert but don’t do anything until I give the word. We don’t want to alert them to our presence.” Suddenly Sean thought he saw something move between him and the front side of the house. Lifting his pistol, using the sight, he saw a man crouched low to the ground, inching toward the front porch. “One here, too,” he murmured. “And now we have four,” Mars stated. “On the count of three…” Do what? Shoot? Let the guy know I’m here. Sean took a deep breath, and when Mars said “Three”, Sean stepped forward, his pistol pointed at his target. “Move, and you’re dead,” he said fiercely.
