Chapter 10
Sean hissed when his body protested his trying to get out of bed the next morning.
“A hot shower will help,” Ken said from across the room.
“How long have you been up?”
“A couple of hours. Long enough to talk with Mars before he left for the airport with the others.”
Sean eased into a sitting position. “The guy we caught…?”
“The cops were very happy go get their hands on him. It seems he jumped bail back east about a year ago and went to ground. Hooked up with the other three—guys he’d known from past incarcerations—and convinced them to team up with him. He has a record a mile long. It’ll be a long time before he tastes freedom again.”
“One down, a million to go, I guess.”
Ken nodded. “Pretty much. Right now though, you, into the shower.”
