A sudden news shocked the whole eastern state. Thousands of mile area which the Iron Gate sect ruled over till yesterday was now just a bottomless abyss. A vast area and its inhabitants disappeared just like that. No one knows how and what kind of powerhouse could do this. The capital of the Flame Heart empire was also turned into a giant dark pit. Everything was wiped out with its capital. People trembled when they felt how lucky they were compared to the Iron Gate sect.
All the lineages and sects closed off their doors. They didn't dare to investigate. A sensational atmosphere pervaded the whole eastern state. The busiest city of eastern state, sky city had turned almost desolate. The three powers which had ruled this city were no more. This sudden change caught its inhabitants off guard. People knew that the Roswell family was annihilated by the joint attacks of the Iron Gate sect and the Empire. But a mysterious powerhouse appeared and destroyed both of them.
No one spoke openly about this matter, they could only guess secretly.
Ray stood at the shore of an ocean which separated the eastern state and the northern state. There was not much distance between the two state. Cultivators could cross the ocean just by using a small boat or flying ship unless something unexpected happens midway. Ray could go anywhere in this world with ease, but he didn't want to. He liked to bask in the light, fresh air and the scenery. He wants to enjoy the development of this world.
Ray hired a small boat and set off to the northern state. The ship sailed slowly as cold breezes streamed through his hair and clothes. Ray's deep black hair swayed gently with the wind. He closed his eyes and sat in a meditative position. Each of his breaths were full of rhythm. The laws of the world appeared slowly and danced around his posture. Ray became one with the world as if there was no distinction between him and the world. The world was him and he was the world. He was the master and the sole ruler. His one glance could give birth to myriad laws and one glance could destroy all the mysteries of the world.
After an unknown amount of time, he opened his eyes slowly. His eyes were deep and boundless, as if they could contain the whole cosmos.
'Not enough. This world is still incomplete. It needs more time for development.' Ray murmured slowly under his breath.
There was no one to drive the boat for him. But the boat never stopped or deviated from its initial destination.
Half a month passed by in the blink of an eye. All this time, Ray didn't have anything to eat. He just meditated. As he got close to the northern coast, he encountered many other flying ships and small boats. A few kind people waved at him and asked if he would come to their ship, but Ray politely declined their offers.
Some arrogant people even sneered at him, but he didn't mind.
In his point of view, they were just ants. Why would he bother about some ants when they pass by? If they really bite or annoy him, he could just pinch them to death.
His boat finally arrived at its destination. The northern coast city. It was bustling with crowds everywhere. People inside the taverns discussed recent events spiritedly.
" Hey, I heard the news about Sky City being destroyed." A burly young man said.
" Sky city?" His partner frowned.
" i***t, its eastern state sky city." The burly young man scolded.
" Oh...wait what!! Destroyed? How? Why? Who? Wasn't it ruled by the three great powers of the eastern state? Who would dare to...." the latter exclaimed, but when he got to the later half, he quickly stopped his mouth.
It quickly attracted other people's attention. They asked him excitedly.
The burly young man had no choice but to tell them.
" I heard that those three powers were at war, but a mysterious powerhouse wiped all of them in one fell swoop. He even destroyed their inhabitants and citizens altogether."
"Huh!! That's so cruel. " A female cultivator said in anger.
"It's their fault for being weak." An older cultivator sighed.
"But.." She wanted to say something again but was stopped by the veiled woman beside her.
Ray wore coarse and dirty clothes. He looks very ordinary, just like a loose cultivator. He entered the tavern and sat in a corner.
No one would notice him, they would just think of him as a poor loose cultivator.
"Would you like to order something, young master?" A gentle voice sounded.
Ray looked up and saw a girl standing in front with a bright smile on her face. She looked like a waitress.
She wore a plain dress which somehow perfectly matched her pretty face. Her figure wasn't very alluring nor too unappealing.
The most noticeable thing about her would be those green eyes.
Ray scanned her for a few seconds and retracted his gaze.
She didn't mind at all and asked again.
"A small drink please." Ray said with a smile.
"Will be ready in a minute." She gave another smile and left.
'Interesting' Ray murmured. His lips curved into an odd smile.
