Chapter Ten - Bounty hunters

1841 Words
The council room wore a rich and ornate decoration that made it a bit classy an different from the other rooms. People's chatter and laughter filled the air in the room. Everyone seemed to be so engrossed with his partner either discussing about a particular lady or the countless lives they had taken. The people in the room wore military expressions given the way they proudly counted their achievements in the military or the bounty. Silence fell over the council room when a man dressed in a force uniform walked into the room as everyone stood up in respect to his personality. Given the number of badges on his shoulder, he must have a very high rank in the team. As soon as he took his seat, the others sat gently. "What is keeping her?" The man that had just appeared began after sighting an empty seat opposite him on the other end of the long table. "She just called to - " The young man closest to the man had barely managed to finish his statement when a young lady obviously in her early twenties stepped into the room from the doorway. "Sorry am late - " "Mm - but take precaution" the man warned. From his looks, he was a no nonsense man and everyone seemed to be aware of his domineering presence. Even the pretty lady who wore a casual outfit simply nodded despite her proud appearance. The others in the room twisted in their seats to stare at her, their expressions ranging from admiration to list given the way their eyes roved over her body, lingered on her arms and legs, took stock of her height and build. They looked everywhere except her eyes. Her body attracted the men in the room heavily including the chairman who stared at her round hip down to her straight legs, her height was indeed intimidating. Even her oval face and dimples sent most of them into their different worlds of fantasies. Her breasts weren't that big but it did perfect her appearance. Aware of the eyes of her admirers, she gracefully slipped into the only empty seat at the table and the meeting began. "The government has finally given us their approval - " the man, Chairman Yul began. "That is great news!" The young man called Zippy with red hair exclaimed cheerfully while the others followed, chattering happily. There were a total of six men at the table with the chairman making them seven and the only lady in the room making them a total of eight. All seemed happy except the lady who barely managed a grin. "We got two special recruits after the approval" chairman Yul turned to Zippy who was the closest to him on his right and continued, "Zippy, a special kind of the aliens who are ready to pose a threat to the society. He wants to ensure the dangerous aliens are entirely wiped from the surface - " The chairman turned to the lady at the other end and let out a smile, "and miss Kimberly, an actress from the West who was also an Alpha before her team was eliminated by these dangerous aliens. She has promised to help us clear South Leone" The older man close to Zippy began, "the dangerous aliens, how do we know them?" "They have a special type of energy flowing right through them. You will get special equipments from the lab to detect them easily" "Mm - " the man nodded in satisfaction. "Amongst these aliens are the good and bad ones - " Kimberly began and everyone immediately turned to her direction obviously overwhelmed by her beautiful presence. "I am the good one, not harmful yo the civilians. How then do we differentiate the good from the bad ones?" The chairman nodded like this was the question he had been expecting all along."Distinguishing the good from the bad is quite tough given the bad ones can easily mix up with the good ones - " He paused to stare into the faces of everyone at the table before he continued. "We have no other choice but to eliminate everyone of them on sight" The air stilled along with everyone at the table, they were still trying to digest the chairman's words. "Won't that be g******e?" Zippy asked wide - eyed. Though he desperately wanted to see that the treacherous Alphas, Reikis anf messengers of various clans in his home country are eliminated, he won't watch the innocent ones pay for the sins of others. He was a Reiki to begin with but their treacherous Alpha had ended up banishing him from the clan given the way he almost exposed his evil activities. Chairman Yul turned to Zippy, "once the leadr of a clan is taken by us, his followers will turn hostile towards us and at such all of them would still end up dead" Zippy thought for a while, the chairman was right after all. The Alpha of his clan has so many followers, killing him would involve killing his followers as well. "We have specifically recruited Zippy and Kimberly because they are just like our targets but much different, sensible and patriotic - we won't lose out after all" Kimberly nodded, her face flushed when she remembered the huge reward the government had promised the newly established bounty hunters. She would become rich after the stress. She was an Alpha, the commoners roaming the streets of South Leone are no match for her after all. She has nothing to fear. "We have also extended our branch to Mugeen and Senegeen given the number of these aliens there, slightly higher and much stronger than the ones here. However, they are still no match for us. So many military officers were recently recruited into our team, a direct order from the government" the chairman smiled mischievously. "However - " he looked around again before he continued "we still have some problem" Everyone quickly paid attention to the chairman. "What exactly could be the problem after we are almost close to success and fame?" The older man who was clearly in the team for the fame and popularity he would gain asked. "The weapons we have used against even the weakest of the aliens leave zero injury on them. We basically have no way to kill them" The air became calm again that they could hear their breaths. Even the chairman was a bit afraid of these so called aliens. He will lose in a fight with them if he was to fight them now. Kimberly on the other hand knew that killing a commoner was no different than attacking a hyena. Her species are usually sharp and fast making it impossible for normal humans like the chairman to catch up with them. Only one thing can kill them. "I have a solution" Kimberly began. She was doing this for the money even when she knew revealing what could kill them meant risking her life because humans were mostly unpredictable. However, she knew the bastards stood no chance against her. She would end up wiping all of them out with just a wave of her hand. She smiled wryly as she stared into their inquisitive faces. Even Zippy knew what was at stake but his mind was the same as Kimberly. "No special weapon of humans are capable of inflicting or causing any harm to our species. Only a spike forged from a special type of metal found in the depths of an ancient waterfall in Guzan that can do so" "Wow - " everyone in the room applauded Kimberly except Zippy who made an eye contact with Kimberly and quickly communicated with her through his mind. "Are you sure you would want to give this information to them? We are also at risk here" "Don't worry. We can read their minds. Any slight attempt on our lives, they would end up dead before they can even breathe" Kimberly smiled at Zippy and slowly nodded to him. Zippy relaxed seeing how confident the young lady is. "Using this special weapon does not mean one hundred percent death if it is not used accurately" Kimberly reminded them. "How do you mean?" Chairman Yul asked. Perhaps, he'd thought the weapon would send the aliens to their early graves with just a throw, however they still needed to use it in a particular way. Isn't that a bit too difficult? "Our species will become violent after seeing these spikes. The only way it will take their lives is if they get a stab through their hearts" Everyone froze, that was like asking a crow to steal food from a tiger's lair. An almost impossible mission given how fast and violent these aliens are, faster than the blink of an eye. "We will find a way to handle that then - " The door burst open for a young man possibly in his Kate twenties who stood at the door. "Pardon my manners generals but - " "Why did you have to barge in stray rat? Can't you wait for the meeting to end?" Chairman Yul yelled. "Sorry sir but we just tracked another one" "Mm - where?" "In Guzan central city, he's a little boy - but am afraid he is more dangerous than the others we've met" "A little boy? That is not a problem. Send a message across to the empress to send more force. It seems he is the boy she has been searching for from the very beginning" "Yes sir!" The young man saluted and left almost immediately. "We have come to the end of this meeting. If you have any interest in joining us for the trip to Guzan to learn our mode of operation, you can join us now" "How do you plan on taking down this little boy when you haven't forged any spike yet?" Zippy asked. "We have a magician with us capable of enchanting sleep spells on him for some time until we capture him" "OK then - we all will go" Kimberly nodded. Everyone stood in agreement before they left the room. Normally, Chairman Yul would sit back to discuss with his subordinate, Legan the older man after the others had left the council room. Today is not an exception either. "What do you think?" Chairman Yul asked. "I think we can trust them" Legan answered. "I don't think so. Kimberly has something up her sleeves. I can't trust her - " "What about Zippy?" "He's only a pun under Kimberly. From what I saw today he will only act when Kimberly acts. Both will turn to nothing but a bunch of betrayals in the end" "Then what do you suggest?" "I suggest we eliminate them after the bounty secures a spot in the country - " chairman Yul's eyes brightened under his evil intent. Now that they have a clue about how to deal with their biggest threats from one of the threats herself, they were partly invincible.
