Chapter Twelve - The boy is an ancient

1252 Words
The weather was cloudy when they set out for Guzan empire in the West. The coach they were in was pulled by horses. At first, Kimberly was quiet but she became more inquisitive after recalling the incident at the hotel. She was sure she saw the boy walk into the hotel but how did he manage to escape? Is he a ghost? Not even his shadow was sighted around the hotel after losing their target. But coming to think of it, the lady they shot with the spike she managed to steal from her clan's disciplinary wing looked so abnormal. Not even her mind was she able to read, it was as if she had built a strong seal around her mind. Though she wasn't so sure, but she remembered feeling some energy flowing through her body. "Chairman what do you think about that lady? She doesn't look quite normal to me" Kimberly began "What do you mean not normal? She is s a civilian. You were lucky you missed the delicate parts of her body else if she had ended up dead, our reputation will be on the line - " "But why do you think the boy whom the empress specifically told us was homeless would be visiting her and turn out to be so close to her?" Kimberly asked still in thoughts. The others in the coach quickly paid attention because of the question. There were only four in the coach, the chairman, Zippy, Legan and one other enforcer closest to the chairman. They quickly fell into deep thoughts. Kimberly was right. Why is the boy becoming close to the lady? "That boy does not belong to any clan" chairman Yul answered while looking straight into their faces. "The Lady might be seeing him as an innocent little boy who needs her help" "That may be right - " Kimberly smiled cunningly while she straightened up to say more, "but what if she is also one of us given we did not go there with the DE equipment to detect the presence of aliens, or - she is not one of us but is purposely hiding the boy from us otherwise why did the boy we clearly saw walking into that hotel end up disappearing before we could even get there?" Chairman Yul fell into thought, if this boy was clearly seen by one of the workers at the hotel walking into the lady's room why did he suddenly disappear and left no traces? Isn't that too suspicious? "So what do you suggest Kimberly?" Zippy asked. "That boy is clearly smart, he should clearly be a newbie in the field but he is even faster and unpredictable than most of us who is older than he is - " "Let's meet the empress first so we will know who we are up against" chairman Yul smartly said, confusion clearly written all over his face. ____ Empress Dija sat comfortably on an ancient throne in a large room looking heavily dressed. She wore a heavy makeup roughly outlining the wrinkles on her face. The crown on her head were larger than her shoulders and even taller. Looking at the crown, one would assume she is carrying a burden on her head but the crown was made of feathers and lightweight shiny metals with a diamond in the centre. The gown she wore covered every part of her legs and the floor right before her. The walls in the room were painted with different patterns all symbolizing an ancient snake's scale. Right above her tall throne stood a giant statue of a snake's head widely open with its long tongue sticking out and covering almost every part of the throne. There were three tongues in total, each taller than two humans stacked together clearly showing how huge the statue is. The statue was painted in dark red clearly outlining the scales over its body. Right beside the empress were two gorgeous ladies who looked like slaves given the chains on their legs bounding them to the wall while they were faning the empress on the throne. Empress Dija is clearly a tyrant of Guzan empire who wouldn't stop until she claims almost every part of the world. "My queen, we've finally located the boy" a man standing right beside the beautifully arranged seats in front the throne began. "But am afraid there are so many others like him stacked up in this area, more than a thousand" "Those bunch of lowly creatures - just tell me where he is" "He is currently in Mugeen and have succeeded in mixing up with the others, finding him will be like fishing a pin out from the sea my queen" "You are always pessimistic, just give me his exact location and leave the rest to me" "I will have to find out more about his location then" the man bowed and proceeded to the door. "Liam" the empress called the man who halted in his tracks and turned to the empress confidently. "Prepare the rest of the team, we will be leaving for Mugeen once you find out the exact location of the boy" "Yes my queen" Liam bowed once again before finally leaving. Heavy footsteps were heard approaching the room more like in sequence. "Hmm - I knew the idiots will be here soon" empress Dija smiled coldly while staring at the entrance. Chairman Yul and his crew walked into the room. Chairman Yul bowed along with Legan and the enforcer while Kimberly and Zippy seemed indifferent. Chairman Yul glared at her and signalled them to bow as well. "Let them be - " empress Daji smiled at them. "They are my special guests, my loyal superhumans blessed by nature. You all are welcome" "We lost him again - " chairman Yul began clearly not wanting to stay much longer in the room. He wanted to leave the imposing presence of the empress. "I knew you won't be able to catch him, ha ha ha!" "But how can a little boy possess such speed and smartness. I mean he clearly outsmarted us just a while ago" Empress Daji's face hardened like she was infuriated, "did you just call him a little boy? Ha! That boy is the reincarnation of the only superhuman who posed the greatest threat to me when he was alive. It took two earth dominators to finally take him out. I just want to finally take him out entirely now that he is still small and his owners not fully unleashed - " "I get it now. That was the reason he acted like a professional soldier" "An ancient - " Kimberly was short of words. There were not many of her kinds who would be granted reincarnation but this small boy seems to carry a strong man in him. Even herself is no match for him. "Have you forged the weapons?" empress Daji asked while adjusting herself on her majestic throne. "Mm - " chairman Yul scratched his head as he searched for words. "Not much just a box of it" "Hmm - " empress Daji harrumphed. "A bunch of lowly idiots! Make sure you forge more than enough before the end of the week. I will be leaving for Mugeen in few days time for those lowly creatures and, including your lost target. Care to join?" Chairman Yul nodded affirmatively clearly not in the position to disobey or reject the offer. "Prepare my exterminators - Ha ha ha!"
