I met my boys at the edge of the forest as Kai and some of the others ran past me like their asses were on fire. I held my babies for no more than a second before I pushed them onto Ciska and asked her to take care of them. I needed to get to Rafe. My sons will be fine with their grandmother for a while. I yelled how Kyan was sleeping, and Ciska told me to hurry back with her little boy.
Little. Rafe is well over six feet tall and full of muscle. Though he’s not built like most men in our pack, he’s of slimmer build but no less intense. I have no doubt my mate can take care of himself, but that means nothing to me. I will not hide away like a good little woman when I can be by my mate’s side.
