Trevor’s POV I carefully opened the envelope, a thick sense of dread overwhelming my senses. I knew that scent – grapefruit and lilac. This had Emily’s fingerprints all over it. I pulled the stiff, cream-coloured parchment from inside. Damn it. A court-ordered prenatal paternity summons. We were expected at a neutral clinic in just forty-eight hours. I slammed the papers down on the mahogany bureau in the hallway, the sound echoing through the foyer. I had expected a move like this, certainly – just not with such lethal speed. We had clearly hit a raw nerve with Emily last night. I took out my phone and dialled the only man in London capable of navigating a disaster of this magnitude.
