Butcher and Emma watched as the red dragon flew ahead of them. Though he hated the idea of flying himself, Butcher admired the graceful form the dragon took, even though he flew erratically toward the castle. He ran flat out, his speed picking up and Emma remaining easily at his side. He intended to take the guards on the bridge if he could. Fortunately, Claskan swooped down and took both guards in his open claws, sending them to their doom. It happened so quickly that Butcher barely had time to register he needed to move faster still. Butcher’s legs throbbed with every bend and tweak, speeding up was nye impossible. He was already running at his top speed. Had he looked anywhere else he would have seen Emma begin to overtake each of his slow steps. I can help. Butcher thought to himself.
