CHAPTER TWENTY Ocelot stared at a bewildered Kail in the dimly lit staircase. A smile broadened his face, though Kail could only see the slight shape of lips parted. Dark circles hung under his light grey eyes which seemed to shine in the small light that fell from windows further up the spire. Ocelot simply stared at the boy. No words fell from his lips. Kail wondered if the sleep deprivation had finally caught up to him and he was hallucinating. Perhaps he overused his powers, his magical reservoir nearly tapped, and it was wearing on him.
