Episode 2

Will's POV

Rise and shine sleeping beauty!" Yelled Laura in my ear and I jerked myself up. "What the hell Laura! What's wrong with you? It's a Sunday morning, can't you let me sleep?" I groaned lying back only to be pulled back up.

"What is it Laura?" I asked annoyed by her behavior. "Mrs. Payton needs help with the upcoming interview. She said it's her anniversary on Monday and the interviews are supposedly on the same day." She said and I forced my eyes open.

"Isn't there anyone else to help her?" I asked and she rolled her eyes. "Stop being so grumpy! Go take a shower, we'll leave for the uni right now." She said and pushed me to the bathroom.

While taking the shower I couldn't help but let my mind drift to my mate. Two months... That's all I have for my mate to find me.

Maybe I was thinking a lot about it because Laura started shouting outside that we were getting late. I quickly got out with a towel wrapped around my waist.

"Oh lala... Planning to kill me with your hotness?" Laura said in a teasing tone and I rolled my eyes at her. "You can go out and wait for me if you don't want a strip show." I said and she quickly went out. I chuckled and closed the door behind her.

I stepped outside after getting dressed and Alice was waiting there for me. "Hurry, we're getting late." She said and I nodded before we set off.

"I thought about it." I suddenly said out of nowhere. "About what?" She asked and I took a deep breath. "About me. If I don't find my mate I'm leaving the pack." I said and she stared at me.

"Are you sure about this? What after that?" She asked and I nodded my head. "I'll join the southwest pack." I said and she nodded. "I'll come with you. Remember our promise?"

I smiled at her and thought about the promise we had made when we were young. The day our friendship started. "Of course I do. Whatever happens..." I said and she completed my words, "we stay together." We hugged each other dearly.

We reached the campus and were greeted by smiling Mr. and Mrs. Payton. "Thank you so much both of you." They both said simultaneously.

"Nothing to thank. It's a part of our job. You both enjoy your anniversary." I said and they both smiled at us warmly, thanking us again before explaining to us the process of the interview.

"There are going to be just four students for the interview. Passing the online test was more than tough." Mrs. Payton said and Mr. Payton nodded in agreement.

"What about the camp next week?" Asked Mr. Payton and I remembered the annual camp which is starting from Tuesday. "The preparations are going well. There are many visitors this time." I said and they nodded in understanding.

Though our town is a small part in the middle of nowhere, it's considered to be one of the most beautiful places. Also our University is known worldwide for the best education and discipline among students. That's why there is a huge demand for admission in it but we hardly take non-werewolf students so as to keep our existence a secret.

Firstly we select the forms of some particular students who are the best at academics and sports as well as other activities. Secondly there's an online test which rarely people manage to pass and last is the interview where we select the student if we find them no harm to the pack.

There were seventy - something students who gave the online test and it's no shock only four students passed and are going to give the interview.

Don't know why but deep down I have a feeling that there's something more to it which I can't put my finger on. I can just hope for something good...

Lyra's POV

"What now??" Asked Ryan, his voice laced with worry.

"I guess go to the so-called Mount Wood uni. We don't have any other option do we?" I ask and he shakes his head.

We had our exams today and as my dearest mom had said... Either Mount Wood or no uni, we had to pass the exam and no doubt we both nailed it.

After giving the paper mom told us, or more ordered us to pack our bags. "We haven't got the result yet mom." I said and she smiled at me. Not the motherly smile, the taunting sweet kind of smile.

"I know that dear. And I also know that you both have to get a degree so you will work hard for getting admission in Mount Wood. Remember what I said, you both don't want to sit at home do you?"

We both shook our heads and she had a satisfactory grin before saying "good" and leaving. We groaned in unison and then looked at each other with an annoyed look before starting to pack my luggage.

The next day I went to Ryan's place and helped in packing his things. Friday went in packing bags and we got the results of the online test. Undoubtedly we both passed. They sent us a letter of permission along with the result.

Yup, we need a permission letter to enter the town, another thing added to the weird list of Mount Wood town. Like why would we need to have permission to enter the town? What is it, a terrorist camp?!

Saturday arrived as a bullet and we were ready to leave. My dad was going to drop us to the airport. As I was getting in the car my mom called me.

"Yes mom?" I said. "Listen dear, do pass the interview okay? Because I'm not going to let you come back here so if you're planning on messing up the interview let me tell you it's of no use cause it's Drake's hometown and he knows everyone there. You mess up there and we get to know here. Either you both go to Mount Wood or no other university. Get that in your head." She said sweetly and I nodded.

When I got in the car Ryan raised a brow at me, getting a hint that something was wrong. "She knows me too well. I thought we would speak s**t in the interview, they would kick us out and we would later tell mom it was tough, but she said dad knows those people. Which means we have to give it our best shot." I said and Ryan dropped his head on my shoulder.

"I quit. Your mom is twenty steps ahead of us." He says and I nod, resting my head on his. That's my mom, but I love her too much to complain. We both have been through a lot in the past and leaving everything behind was really tough. Through everything that has happened, we supported and stuck to each other. All these hardships just brought us closer and that's the reason she knows me more than myself and vice versa.

I hug my dad tightly before looking at him. "Call me if anything's wrong. Stay away from guys, men in Mount Wood are too hot to resist." He says and I chuckle. "Yeah, I can get the hint." I say pointing at him and he chuckles this time.

"Ryan be with her twenty four - seven and take care of my lovely daughter." He directs his words at Ryan and he nods with a smile. Bidding each other a final bye we leave for our flight.

If it would have been anyone else than Drake I would've never accepted him as my dad, but with Drake it is different. Though me and mom overcame our past but she always had something absent in her eyes, when she met Drake I realized it was love.

Drake and mom looked at each other with so much love and passion that it made me accept them, if not for me at least for the sake of my mom's happiness. This one year with Drake never made me regret my decision even once because he treated me as his own daughter and loved and cared about me as any father would.

I could make my mom smile but Drake made her happy. He's a nice person and my dad didn't deserve to be called a father so I accepted Drake as my real father.

"Back to Earth Lyra." Said Ryan waving his hands in front of me and bringing me out of my thoughts. I slipped on the seat next to him and he asked me what I was thinking.

"We've cleared all the steps, it is the interview I'm not sure about. Let's see what happens. Either we both get selected or we both sit at home, but we stay together no matter what." I say and he nods with a smile as the plane takes off.

God knows what will happen there!
